Before they removed them, when you played on a 4 player map, the game showed you on the minimap where the enemy was. So positions would vary between each game but you'd know exactly where yo scout to remove the randomness of dying to cheesebecause you scouted the wrong base. It's a problem that was already fixed | ||

It's a problem that was already fixed I even initially prefaced that concern in my first post and had that exact pushback, if you reveal the starting positions it gives more creative opportunities to play around with symmetry options. | ||

Also, in terms of map design, it would be great to allow players to claim different corners of the map later, to spread out the economy/production and have more spread out and hectic gameplay. I really really miss gameplay from 4 player maps, like Tal'Darim, Frost, etc. There were lots of great games due to bases being split up more and later bases having defensible features like small chokes and high ground, and not having all later bases be out in the open on low ground that are very easy to attack into. | ||
