Was a refreshing surprise to see the caliber of players in the recent WTL 2v2, tons of fun watching it and would follow more. I give a resounding "somewhat interested". The recent finals were awesome/fun as hell and I'd love to see this evolve beyond what feels like gimmicky fun.

2v2's never seemed to catch on and I'm grateful this event happened since it showcased the intense back and forth we see from 1v1's can be seen in that format.

Not really, no. Maybe I would be interested in seeing it in Stormgate if thats a thing but I feel like in StarCraft 2 1v1 is my bread and butter.

Watching out of curiosity, but I prefer to watch 1v1 rather than team games. If a team game tournament happens again why not, but 2v2 skills don't always translate into 1v1s, and vice-versa, while that's part of what I might want to see out of a player.
I'm just a cynical video game enjoyer who is probably unfazed by many business dealings many would find utterly distasteful, while not strictly illegal by the law as seen in a general sense in the world.

funnily enough I used the term "bread and butter" referring to 1v1 in my previous post then reworded it, some hive mind shit. I mean, not wrong.

yeah i'd like to see it. and if it catches on enough, team leagues can include 2v2s in a more meaningful fashion, kinda like in war3

i will say following 4 players at once at the pace of sc2 can be quite stressful though

Absolutely. It's both interesting and refreshing, and I'm always interested to see my favorite games being played in different ways, not just one.

The 2v2 Tour of World Team League was fun. I would like to see more 2v2.
Stopped watching ESL content in 2022 when the company was acquired by Savvy Gaming Group. Also object to sponsorships by the U.S. Air Force. Thanks for the lively discussions about sportswashing. StarCraft II is not for me anymore.

I would prefer if the standard team leagues had a 2v2 component in them. Because it legitimizes 2v2, rather than having wacky 2v2 tournament offshoots.

2v2 is a very hard format to watch in SC2 properly, due to the very high speed of the game, i'd say - no

2v2 format is much better suited for the game like WAR3, it's slower, more micro-oriented, plus we have more possible matchups and it produces very interesting series frequently

Couldn't disagree more.

Whenever this has happened (old Proleague in BW, most recent Nation Wars), 2v2 felt like a distraction from the 1v1 that people were primarily there to see.

I think forcing 2v2 into 1v1 events is what makes them seem "wacky," while standalone events with meaningful prizes is what helps them gain "legitimacy."

Have the Ace Match as 2v2, now that would be more "fun".

Yes, but it would necessitate a complete makeover of the 2v2 mappool.

Makes me curious how maps with no shared(ish) bases would fair, something like Nautilus.

No doubt the ability for 2 players to gang up on 1 could get out of control, but regardless I'd like to see it tested.

voted neutral. i'm only interested because i like the personalities in the pro scene. if there was some masters league tier tournament and wardi and the other youtube boys had videos like, "look at this sick!! 2v2 strat" i would not click. i'm only interested in seeing more of the pros who ordinarily don't participate in small tournaments like maru, serral, bunny

2v2 is perfect for a gag side event (like that 8 player MLG) way back when.

I want co-op commanders combined for team play. One player plays the rts portion while the four other players play commanders in a 5v5 competition. Team eSports get way more attention, so let’s do this!
