I find it weird that you try to weaken "one man armies", yet you make the players who would be that even more important by making teams smaller.
Skytoss/mech does sound scary in 2v2, but it takes a while to get there... I'm very much looking forward to see what will come out of this tourney!

2v2 in starcraft 2 really sucks, so i feel like this format is a mistake

This format is kinda sad. I'd rather have had 4 player teams with proleague format. This is really about as far from a team league as you can have, while still having teams.

lol @ 2 players / country
|
Hyped but very sad it's only 2 players per country.
Doesn't really seem to achieve the goal of making one man armies weaker either.
But I will still support and enjoy the tournament .

But it puts guys like Reynor and Serral even more into the spotlight because they have to compensate for the weakness of their team harder than ever before.

For me it was much better when it was 3 players + 1 substitute because it allows for rotation if this is ever required. As for the 2v2s, reducing teams to two players per team could make for weaker teams -> a great 1v1 player isn't always a good 2v2 player, and vice-versa.

I think the WTL format (from the regular season, not the playoffs) would have been better in giving less top heavy Teams a chance. I still understand, that they try to do something new and also want to give as much players/ nations as possible the Chance to compete.
Still not sure, if the format will work, but supporting it nevertheless I ve been waiting for another NW way to long

who is signing the sweatshirt for the master tier?
reading through the format I can see now why for some nations (like the UK - razerblader + teebul w/ Risky sub? who else?) it might be easier to have a team but for others like Germany or France its really quite disappointing

Still, in the past the sub mostly never played anyways

Zain and OpTiMiStC are both players who'd be in with a shout, and there's also GrimReaper who was the substitute last time. I'd guess that all three are better options than RiSky because he doesn't seem to have been practicing.
EDIT:
I believe all six players (Raza, Teebul, Zain, OpTiMiStC, GrimReaper and RiSky) are eligible to represent other countries through dual-citizenship. So that's a fun fact for you!

Still not a team event when the one man show still has the advantage due to the ace match. This format perfectly fits 4 people, don't know what's the problem.

I don't see why not having enough GM players is a problem.

But yeah I totally get the point If they wanted to Limit the applications for the "national teams" they could even do an Open breaket per Nation if more than 8 Players sign up and then have the top 4 Play in the Main tournament

They did online votes last time so there's no reason they couldn't open that up to a broader range of players. I do think it is a bit strange to only have two players per team and then claim that you're reducing the influence of one strong player...

Yeah remember that this is crowdfunded and not Blizzard pouring money anymore. I am relatively fine for two players even though nations with depth are penalized, the 2v2 could be fun between progamers. Wonder if the 2v2 team with Lilekannin would stand a chance vs better 1v1 pros that have no experience in this format, but he seems retired

Well how would you do a public voting between average joe #1 - #8? Unless you had to put the MMR and race next to the Name, you had no idear Who to vote on. And if you did, 99% of the comunity would just go with the highest MMR then
