We all know that StarCraft 2 is very hard to master. Having a good coach, even for few hours, can be really important to improve.
Everyone needs a coach. At the beginning is usually a skilled friend or some gentle opponent. When your level grows, you may need a dedicated work. And pay for that. Not necessarily aiming to reach a pro-level, just to enjoy more the game. Or to do a gift/tournament prize!
So, here it is the questions: who are the top coaches? And what about costs?
The first thoughts go to progamers or former progamers, casters, youtubers, etc. The ones that even for one time you can be happy to talk with. Then to basically anyone that has both game skill and the ability to explain the details of the game (not only the 'how to', but 'why'). All GM and top master level, more or less, I suppose.
So, do you have experience with this? Can we do somekind of list with name/service details?

Creed seems to be a decent TvP coach.
Harstem did some coaching for Casually Explained recently, so you could also list him for P.
I also remember seeing BeastyQT, a Protoss/ Terran Player coaching MaxPax.
I don t know, if any of them are open to coaching more casual players, though.
For that lots of streamers/ content creators/ community figures come in my mind though.
Winter is for example a high Masters/ Low GM random player, who does coaching for all 3 races. Lowko is a high Masters Zerg, who also does coaching.
Some Pros will also coach, best way to find out, if your favorite player is currently open for coaching sessions would be to check their twitch accounts, I suppose.
Another way to get a Pro into analyzing your Replay would probably sending it in for Harstems IodIs Youtube series, that one is actually free as it produces hilarious contend for his channel

I took some coaching from PiG about 4 or maybe 5 years ago. Incredibly nice guy, very educative, maybe a little expensive (sorry Jared).

I feel like any player who is known to for multiple race play would be decent coach, like demuslim, beastyqt, pig, vibe.

For top players, iloveoov.
He was coach for SKT T1 when Classic, Soulkey, soO, Dream where beasts, during the rise of Dark, when Proleague had SKT as top 2 team for years. The players of SKT often thanked iloveoov in post match interviews.
Nowadays he coaches Afreeca Freecs, and those players has had a good year. TY and Stats has both gotten to GSL finals, and DRG made it to ro4, soO won TSL, and Armani advanced the furthest ever in his GSL career.
(Side note. I looking at the Afreeca Freecs liquipedia page, it looks like iloveoov is listed for another game. I learned that he's on Afreeca through SC2, so I don't know what his employment actually is)

I suggested a strategy that was used to win a game in a code s final (proxy hatch on odyssey in the soO vs gumiho final), but my inability to figure out any other winning strategies ensures i'm not the coach you, or anyone else, is looking for.

A friend of mine once slapped me many moons ago when I was learning the game every time I used the keyboard arrow keys to scroll the screen.
Was effective in eliminating that bad habit rather quickly, although I’m not sure my body could have taken the battering if I had continued this regime.

What the majority of people consider coaching is not really coaching, they are giving you pointers and maybe some build orders.
Which sure will help you a little bit but in terms of what you are paying these people you are getting robbed.
If you have no ambition to go pro don't waste your money on coaching from pro streamers, it is a waste of money.
Same if you have an ambition to go pro don't waste your money you need a real coach.
If you want a fun interaction with some famous personalities in sc2 and your wallet can take it sure go ahead its a fun experience but it isn't worth the money.
To coach players typically those at lower leagues if you want rapid improvement you need to make them understand how the game works and help them see the bigger picture which in turn will make them automatically understand what are good or bad decisions and what is logical. This makes the player improve way faster.
Almost any coach I have heard coaching on twitch in sc2 is giving pointers to low league players explain things in such a way that they know what to do but they don't understand why a lot of the time which is really really bad.
While coaching a player who wants to go pro they most likely already have very high game knowledge but more then just game knowledge they also need help with improving mentally , efficiency of their practice and pointing out little things that they have missed in their play that they can improve. A good first example is making sure they are committed to the goal of being the best, otherwise what is the point.

I do good coaching but I never was a big personality in SC2 so I am useless to you but I like your idea

This thread seems like an advertising landmine. When I originally saw it my first thoughts were "hell yea, a thread about the teamleagues," but now I'm a bit disappointed. It would be interesting to learn more about some of the unsung heroes of the community, particularly those of repute. Hopefully this stays open and is able to tread the line.

A tournament of Bronze players that each have a coach assigned could be cool, the person who best coaches their Bronze leaguer wins!

That would certainly be interesting, very difficult for users to chip in on as in all my time following I recall very, very little leaking out in terms of how teams were coached and what methods they used.
I would really love to hear it all one day but even the BW stuff and how the Kespa houses trained is still nothing that’s leaked in terms of what was happening and the specifics.
