Hi guys,
Rumour has it that many old Red Alert pros transitioned to SC, including Porker, Wegandi ORA clan members and more.
I'm making a video on Red Alert history/hall of fame and wondered if anyone here played with the best Red Alert players, and remembers WW, cases, mplayer, Kali, TEN and the painful 56K modems?
Who would be your top 5 RA players ever? Best clans? Players who excelled at certain maps/game aspects?
From the 90s my memory is hazy, but iirc Milo and Bosshogg were my hardest opponents. And now it is probably FatherRavel/NastyNate with robskate still holding his own on standards after all these years.
It has been very interesting and nostalgic discussing RA history with old pros, and I look forward to any memories you may have of the game.
Nate (Larry on WW)

Apollo played some C&C games, but not Red Alert specifically I think? Sorry if it's not the answer you're looking for.

That's CNC3 WCG 2007 champion dApollo tyvm.
In all seriousness, at least in ANZ, deth and iaguz had backgrounds in competitive RA3.

I wonder what his RA name was 🤔

I'm talking about players in the late nineties who became pro at RA, then moved to SC. Yes the remastered version is coming, and I hope they don't change too much! 😅

Yeh thanks anyway, I suppose some SC players also moved to later RA versions.

It's still interesting to note that a SC pro also became pro at RA 3, and not surprising really because the skill sets are similar, probably more so than RA1 which is more mechanical.

I'll be sure to post a link to it here. I just heard that the best RA player in the past 5 years has also moved to SC2. His name was "ehy" in RA. I do hope Wegandi sees this thread too.

Two well known folks I believe came from CnC and went to SC2 are Apollo(sc2 caster and now runs a lot of stuff for esl) and Iaguz(I think? sc2 player from australia).

Great thanks, I'll try to contact them...

come on lads this is a classic case of 'you think you want it' noone looked back after sc came about.

I made like 100 bucks or something playing online cups in RA3 and a set of speakers at a lan that I never opened. Apollo winning WCG '07 is really cool tho. That's my story!
I don't think there's any CnC guys who came over to SC2 just in general. I think a lot of them were too old and had better things to do in life. A very understandable position to have.
