There is one thing I don’t understand about the proceeding. It seems like group D should often be more difficult, since that group will get the left-over, least desirable player. But this is the group with the number two seed. Seems counter intuative to “penalizing” the no 2. Would make more sense to swap the no. 2 and 3 seeds having A-C-D-B.
