Definitely one of the best Group Nomination interviews, interesting choice to do it in the same room as the interrogation scene in Casino Royale though.

I'm curious what other groups people think would be contenders. DRG Rain Taeja Polt when **** walked the Royal Road remains a terrifying group of death in my mind.

The first game lasted 30 minutes and looked like Maru was playing. What tournament did inno 2-0 dark in? - SORRY DISREGARD THIS I just saw someone post the link

I think on the theme of family they picked Dark, Classic, soO and InnoVation (with dark eliminated in last place).

It's the line where the surrounding talk, gossip, and human relationships of the performers becomes almost as interesting as the art itself (be it movies, music, or professional video games). For those of us who have reached crossed that point of no return in StarCraft II esports, the GSL group selection ceremony is our holy grail of entertainment. Indeed. And for us non-Koreans there is the general problem of a lack of access to what these players say, which is often unavailable or only sporadically available through live translations. It's all a big enigmatic, which is why stuff like the subbed vods of TY balance whining or doing predictions is so good. And of course the Code S pre-filmed interviews which are becoming better and better. Several of the 2019 seasons had awesome interviews already in the Ro32.

I slightly favor the Parting/Life/Inno/Flash one simply because of how strong parting + life + inno were, that FlaSh seemed like a clear underdog (and you don't get to say that very often). From what I remember, the second group you mentioned, Dear + SK + Maru were all in somewhat inconsistent phases of their career at that point, so I didn't feel as hyped for that one, but that could be personal preference. The PartinG/INno/Life/Flash group was the most memorable in terms of popularity and hype of the players. But the Dear, Soulkey, Zest, Maru group was absolutely the GOAT group of death in terms of the level of players at the time. It just wasn't as hype because none of it's players were massive stars in foreign tournaments. Dear was never that popular, Maru and Dear barely played outside of Korea, and no one had quite realised yet that Zest was the best. You had literally the champions of the last three seasons (Soulkey, Maru, Dear) and then Zest who won that very season. Not to mention Zest and Dear were the #1 and #2 protoss at the time, Maru was absolutely the #1 terran, and Soulkey had been the #1 zerg for almost an entire year. edit: also massive disappointment that Dark didn't do the Rag/Stats swap. Having literally the two best terran and protoss of all time in the same group would have been historic. You'd be looking at 14 GSL trophies in one group, vs 2/1/0 in the others.
