Like, the idea that when a team disbands, some players are being told about it 5+ hours after others (especially a team of 8 people) is kind of ridiculous. I have immense respect for Olimoley and everything she has done for Starcraft, but this isn't a good look. MCanning lives in the US and streamed into the night, so he should be asleep right now. I think they send him a massage, but it's not that easy to read a massage when you are asleep, so chill dude.

Could also be that Juan just wasn't told or missed the fact that he wasn't supposed to say it yet. It's not necessarily, for lack of a better word, malicious, although it is a possibility that Juan did intentionally announce early because of the suddenness of losing his salary, or even just because he (like me) thought it was just stupid and pointless to keep that information under wraps. Who knows. so i woke up with a message telling me because covid 19. the team would be disbanded. now while i respect that. no one can honestly expect me to hold this for 1 week.(when they planned to make it public) while i was happy with what chivo did for us and they always threated us well. i cannot go 1 week acting like nothing happeend on my stream or trying to find a new job. i just want to say i am sad.

I think your actions are justified, a week is ridiculous and seems this was handled poorly by the organization.

I was asked to provide the news to the players I managed per the team owner's request, and provide the given time frame the announcement would be announced so all game divisions under the team could be informed. I'm sorry you feel my last responsibilities were not a good reflection of something out of my control.

Ah well, it may not be the last one to fall, not sure what JinAir future will be. Esport in general could be in trouble, it's still mostly speculative money. Anyway, thanks to Olimoley for her hard work running the team and making sure her player would have the chance to fly out to events where other team would not, to Crank for bridging the gap between the foreign and korean scence, to Mcanning for being the greatest, to all the player that has passed through the team and to all those behind the scene. Chivo always seemed genuinely dedicated in creating something nice within the scene, hopefully everyone can fall on their feet.

The thing is, were they gonna announce it 1 week later, or tomorrow? that really makes a big difference regarding Juan's action. Anyway, let's hope the players and streamers find teams or sponsors soon.

If you find yourself unemployed, you are supposed to announce it immediately and shout it from the rooftops so you can find your next oppurtunity as a professional. Get ahead of it. You dont owe anything to a faceless organization.

You dont owe anything to a faceless organization. That faceless organization has been paying him (and a lot of other players/streamers) for a year, and he has had 0 problems with them as he said. If they tell you to wait a couple of days so that the rest of people can receive the news and they can release a public statement, you should be able to be professional enough to wait those 2 days without writing a fucking tweet about it (preceeded by a tweet complaining about your bad luck or the universe conspiring against you or some 14yo shit). Maybe even he could say he is looking for a team and not say that Chivo has disbanded, which affects a lot of people. Professional is not doing exactly the opposite thing your employers ask you to do. But no. "Fuck it, those 2 days are gonna be key to find a new team, so I don't care... also I will say that the team is disbanding before some of my teammates even know even though I've been told not to do it". That's professional according to you.

The employer who asks you to put your livelyhood on hold for some sort of waiting period while you dont get paid is certainly the one being unprofessional. This is basic HR. If they continued to pay him and made him sign an NDA or something in that regard, sure. But doesnt seem to be the case. If you get relieved from a job, dont wait, get your name out there immediately. Pretty simple.

It is entirely possible to get in contact with people privately over DMs/email/text/phone and look for a job that way. If there is a planned announcement at a set time, it's incredibly unprofessional to make that announcement ahead of time.

So the moment they tell you privately that the team is disbanding, you don't care no more about them, not what they say/do and your teammates... so you decide to make it public in fucking Twitter. There are ways to look for job, or let other teams know you are avaidable (maybe your friend's teams? or all those chinese teams/toys?) without being the one that gives the news about a team with a lot of people involved disbanding. Risking his livelyhood?...They didn't ask him to wait two months, dude... but 1 day... As Crank, Olimoley and others sure did. Special has all the right to do what he did, I agree. But i do think it's really unprofessional, and immature... Also really ungrateful to a team that has treated him really well, in his own words, to not waiting 24h to let them release an official statement. Again, we might miss some information, so we are giving opinions based on what we know.

Chivo didn't have to inform him in advance and take the high road but they did, they could just have posted it openly and let Special know from a press release or at the same time. Just the same as Special didn't have to act professional and keep it under wraps, and he didn't. All this kind of behavior creates is making organizations know that Special is not a person they should inform in advance, if he isn't respectful against the organizations why should the organizations be respectful to him. Really sad to read this, loved the team ![]()
