According to  SpeCial, team Chivo SC has disbanded today. RagnaroK tweeted that he left the team.
This comes pretty suddenly, as the team has tweeted on the 2nd of April about its players qualifying for GSL, making it sound like normal business, and is in the midst of participating in the Gold Series Team Championship.
As of now, there is no official statement from the team available. (See Update 2 below for the official statement!)
SpeCial: as of today i am teamless. my team has disbanded im very sad about it. will look into my options for the future.
SpeCial seemed pretty surprised by the news himself, tweeting earlier today:

An official announcement was supposed to be coming out in about a week.

That's really too bad if true. Two of my favorite players/streamers were on Chivo, mcanning and special. Hope the best for everyone involved!

Sad news. I think it will make them stronger(the pro players). sounds like a very impulsively action, not ok for the pro players since their life depends on it. i wonder how the pro contracts are looking that they can just disband the contract.

Very surprising news. Chivo seemed like a really well functioning SC2 division, with not only players competing in GTC but also several of the biggest streamers in sc2 under their banner. Looking forward to hearing why this happened.

Man, Chivo was looking good an was one of the legit "new" teams with community veterans as staff, so sad  .

CranK just said on stream that apparently Special broke the embargo about the team disbandment. From what I hear it seems like it was supposed to be tmr when it's announced but special outright just said it today. He seemed pretty pissed on stream, and it been a few months since I saw him that displeased on cam.

Pretty sure Special is also pretty displeased to lose his team without any notice period.

Why would there be an embargo on someone losing their team? That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard. Special needs to worry about himself and get his name out there so he can find a new team.

Honestly very possible that, considering that the owner is in Mexico and Juan is in Korea, there was some confusion over the date of the announcement. Could also be that Juan just wasn't told or missed the fact that he wasn't supposed to say it yet. It's not necessarily, for lack of a better word, malicious, although it is a possibility that Juan did intentionally announce early because of the suddenness of losing his salary, or even just because he (like me) thought it was just stupid and pointless to keep that information under wraps. Who knows.

From what I remember, the owner of the team was a Mexican business man with some disposable income. Most likely, with the current economic situation, that excess income is now gone.

Because you wouln't like to read on TL or Twitter that you have lost your job before you get the information from your employer ;-)

I would prefer to find out as soon as possible regardless of source if it's effective immediately like this appears to be.
