Hi everyone

getting back into lotv and i found out they changed the larva inject to stack now.
how to zergs fast inject using the backspace method without queens wandering?
ive searched the forums for answers but most ppl are grouping queens with hatches, the problem with this is its not really any faster than just using camera locations hotkeys.
Is there anyway faster or a better backspace injection method?

Don't use backspace method because the base jumping is unreliable -- it may go to a base you don't want. You want to camera hotkey your bases to f1-f4, or whatever you are comfortable with. Then select all your queens in a control group, hold down v, put your mouse in the middle of the screen -> f1 click, f2 click, f3 click, f4 click, then press s. The last step is what you want to do to prevent your queens from wandering around.

You can also leave your injecting Queens un-grouped to camera hotkey -> select Queen, inject -> next camera, etc. without needing to tell any stray Queens to stop and leaving the rest of your Queens in a group for defending, spreading creep, so on. Either way, I agree that backspace/spacebar is probably a worse habit to have, and camera hotkeys are so useful outside of using them for injecting (and even outside of playing Zerg).

The backspace method always leads to queens wandering, there is not much you can do about it. Here is a good tutorial for larva injects by Lambo: Inject tutorial

i dont quite understand when you mean by queens un-grouped camera hotkey. you mean just use a camera hotkey box queen then inject?

Yes, un-grouped = not in a control group. F1 -> box select Queen, inject.

Or, instead of having your injecting Queens completely un-grouped, you can have your defending/creeping Queens in one group and all Queens (including your injecting ones) in another group. For me it works out really well.

You should also make sure your Queens' spell hotkeys are comfortable to press when you cycle through camera hotkeys (F1-F4, or through F5-7) and your Inject Larva hotkey. The default V works fine for me using my index or middle finger for F1-F5 and pressing V with my thumb, but I know at least a couple of people with smaller hands who changed it to something more comfortable or use their middle finger for going quickly between cameras (F1-F4) and injects on X.

Hopefully that makes sense...

He doesnt explain whats he's doing very well, but from what i got he pre selects he inject queens then uses he's camera hotkeys to cycle while spaming inject right?
the problem with this is that, lets say hes main base queen doesnt have enough energy and he spams it he's natural queen or other queen comes and inject which screws up the cycle. other than that he does it flawlessly. or am i missing something?

Queens inject the nearest hatchery so if your main queen doesn't have enough energy, your nat queen will start going to it but if you cycle through your base correctly, she will inject the nat hatch first since it's closer. This is why it's important to use camera hotkeys instead of base hotkeys so you can make sure the correct hatches inject. The last step you're missing is either pressing s or h after the cycle ends so that all queens stop moving. This is how you prevent them from wandering.

I see thanks for explaining it. so fastest way to do it is camera cycle then?

Imo, yes. One disadvantage with this method is you have to manage your queens a bit more. For example, if you get attacked and need to pull both your inject queens and creep spread queens, it's a bit annoying to send them all back or re-adding them to the correct inject group after the fight is done. It's honestly up to you how you want to inject. I've seen players like Serral do both the hotkey base camera method and regular camera inject method depending on the situation of the game. He definitely seems to prefer hotkeying his queens and cycling through using camera keys though.

i've never seen anyone use my method as zerg, but i start with my main hatch on hotkey 5, nat on 6, third on7 etc. it seems to work quite efficiently for me and also allows me to manage my larva per base instead of having all your larva on one hotkey and potentially wasting it in dire situations (mashing that Z key when maybe you shouldn't) allows me to properly disperse my larva easier.

that's how i do it anyway.. i've never seen anyone else do it this way though, i play around m3- m2.
i'm just here to have fun

I recommend get used to camera hotkeys, when I got like 5+ bases I use backspace method.
Still angry about inject Nerf, back in the days it was so satisfying to inject multiple hatcheries under a second.

Backspace method Is still viable but with rapid fire inject you have to be extra carefull, you can always do stop command after cycle to stop wandering Queens but dont use shift or you will end up with uninjected hatcheries.

For super lategame scenario I select all queens, hold shift And inject like milions times. I know it's not ideal but I dont have to worry about injects for a long time.

That's what i did when i was still playing. I remapped the cycle base hotkey to ² and then just spam it with inject then stop because fuck off queen wanderer
