I would have preferred proleague format where team actually means something.

They're going to have the same team format exhibition they did last time which resulted in a 7-1 bopping by Korea.

If they had the entire event being a team league and had multiple different formats with the winning team being the one that wins 2 of 3 formats (basically proleague playoffs), things wouldn't be much different. You'd get something like 6-2/7-1/8-0 for the set maps then 5-0 or 5-1 for the all kill format.

The only drama to the event would be over who Team Korea sent out first for the all kill format.

Good to know. Great to have best of both worlds. It's impossible for either format to get it perfect, but having both is great.

Predictions:
Ro16:-
Maru 3:0 soO
ShoWTimE 2-3 Zest
Stats 3-0 Cyan
MajOr 2-3 Has
Serral 3-0 Kelazhur
Rogue 3-1 INnoVation
Neeb 1-3 Dark
Classic 3-2 Scarlett

Ro8:-
Maru 3-0 Zest
Stats 3-1 Has
Serral 2-3 Rogue
Dark 3-2 Classic

Semi Finals:-
Maru 3-1 Stats
Rogue 2-3 Dark

Final:-
Maru 4-3 Dark

I mean Maru is pretty much the first sc2 Bonjwa so hard for anyone to beat him. Dark Rogue and Serral could all face him imo as all crazy strong.

Will be great to watch either way

Hope Rogue beats Inno, and Serral will be in shape to get the hype finals versus Maru only to get quite bopped. Can't wait.

If that happens I guarantee people will still run around saying "Look how great Serral is, he made it to the GSL finals!"

I hope Inno beats Rogue so he can do the Serral-bopping.

Meh it's not really interesting.

Would have prefer GSTL / SPL format with a team of foreigner against a team of Korean. That would be cool.

Oh well. There's still Has to watch and some KR matches.

MVP would be first Bonjwa if there ever was one in SC2. Btw what's Maru's domination period now ?

Basically the beginning of 2018 to present. It's looking like he's on course to just dominate the whole year like Mvp and Zest.

I suppose if I had to pinpoint it further, his dominance began to really manifest itself around the IEM WC and WESG which was early March.

If he'd beat Rogue and Classic/Dark that would still be rather impressive and he'd just make it more clear to the doubters that he is indeed a top-10 player in the world as many people are saying. I mean I'm really not seeing many individuals saying Serral is a top-3 player or something at the moment.

If Maru wins GSL S3, BlizzCon and does not slump after BlizzCon and wins another tournament early next year then that would feel bonjwa like to me. But not just now.

Totally expecting him to win this one for sure.
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

This Bracket makes no sense should be all korean vs foreigner since its called "korea vs the world" and seeding is off too, like top left is way stronger than bottom left.
Still looking forward to it hope we get some good games

Dunno, seems like you're luckier than me. Serral needs to face a Korean Terran, and since Maru is on the other side of the bracket, it falls to Inno to get the job done.

If they do meet, that means Inno beat Rogue, in which case rip Serral.

Some people really think Serral will be in the finals when he has to face Inno
/Rogue, Dark/ Classic on the way

I mean there is a chance but its slim.

I think Innovation will the largest problem since his ZvT is not godlike like his ZvZ and ZvP.

Rogue wont be a lesser problem. Once he'll make it past those guys, I'm confident he will defeat Classic, though...

Yeah I'm pretty confused. Then I read it was seed and then random draw but still could've at least sectioned the random draw to gaurantee korea v world.

Rogue is most definitely a lesser problem compared to Inno. Serral's ZvZ is much stronger than his ZvT. Moreover, his ZvT is most certainly inferior to Rogue's. And if Serral does face Inno, he will be facing an Inno who just defeated Rogue.

Rogue might just lose to Serral. Inno almost certainly won't.

Being dumb but I don't see this event in the calendar - has it been added? Want to put it in my cal so I don't miss it
