So I went and watched the finals to make up my own mind. Scarlett was the better player that day. I put the rest in spoilers, just wanna say: Early ling drops don't feel 1/10th as broken as reaper and tankivacs were vs Zerg. Fuck byun, robbed Dark, the true WCS 2016 champion. That being said, they might be slightly too cheap for how good they are. The games: + Show Spoiler + Game 1: sOs controll his Adepts badly early game. He as ~12 Adepts split on 3 bases, loses all of them and only gets 5 drones. Tastosis call this completly wrong, not worth the investment, infact the point where he loses the game. Game 2: Simply Outplayed. Lurkers are hard to deal with. sOs played very uninspired and almost rolls over. Game 3: ~ehhh. Sure, lingdrops are cheap, but sOs kinda missreads the situation and seemed unfamiliar with map. However hindsight is always 20/20. This is probably where zerg drops are too good for their cost. Game 4: Scarlett is up 3-0 and tries a fancy all in, which gets defended. Most entertaining game of the series. Game 5: well shit happens. shade behind mineral lines to scout drones instead of skirmishing with the queen and 4 lings on the ramp. Again hindsight 20/20, that is just the fragile nature of early game PvZ | ||

User was warned for this post Considering a lot of Protoss have also won too with a lot of cheese, it's justice. Also, i'm pretty sure the preparation of Zest and sOs on this tournaments was like "Noobs foreigners everywhere, i will just train PvP for the final vs the other Protoss", while Scarlett played the tournament of her life. Also sOs hasn't won a single tournament on LOTV (while Patience, Neeb, Zest, herO, Stats, Harstem, showtime, petitdrogo did). And kor are not good at SC2 because they are kor, but because they have a special environnement where esport is more developped. And as Scarlett lives in korea, there is no reason she doesn't become as good as kor players. | ||
