Crediting Scarlett’s victory only to balance is short sighted and way oversimplifies it. While it might have been a factor in her victory, it shouldn’t disqualify the fact that she played one hell of a series not to mention the 3 ZvZs she played through the tournament, which historically has been her weakness.

Note, a 58-42 balance should have resulted in roughly a 4-3 if players are perfectly equal and we determining winners purely from balance. So that doesn’t explain the 4-1.

I watched it live. It was actually quite a stomp. The game sOs won was out of sheer will, micro, and unit efficiency (see: immortals blasting roaches, warp prisms). Otherwise, this series was a complete rollover. The Zergling breach on BlackPink reminded me quite a bit of the old school Leenock.

eeeh no, thats not how it works mate :D i said it before and i'll say it again, starcraft people really need to stop this pseudo math. idk where the 58 42 number comes from in the first place (latest aligulac number i could find is 54 46, still not that good, but people usually quote whichever statistic best fits their narrative anyway), but you cant simply apply that ratio to determine what outcome a BO7 is supposed to have from a balance point of view.

Numbers are come from Aligulac current (and previous) lists. Since 4.1.4 PvZ are 42v58.

How numbers turn into real results are far beyond my understanding. I can only speculate, that big numbers represents "standard game scenario" but in real life players may choose different strats, forced to play more aggressively/ defensively than "optimal" strategy required. I remember when terran had 55 advantage in HOTS protoss all 2 protosses in some premier's Ro8 brought earlier unseen colossus drop, therefor winning both series. It didn't deny terran advantage.

I loved the production and commentary on this event, it felt really high-quality.
I love sOs, but it was great to see Scarlett running circles around him. It feels like it's long overdue for her to be in the spotlight.
(Also, for those balance whining: considering her run in this tournament, if you want to try to discredit her, it would probably make more sense to complain that ZvZ is imbalanced.)
