+ Show Spoiler +Here we go again! The GSL round of 32 is over and we had the pleasure to watch quite a few other tournaments as well. (like "the loser strikes back, IEM qualifiers, WESG, etc). I think it is time again to do our best and create a power rank which doesn't need to hide behind the official TL one  I hope a lot of you participate  To be clear: The list should reflect your opinion on the current strength of players. What i want you to do: Post your own power ranking in this thread, 10 players only, sorted by their current strength in LOTV. I will only count 'serious' lists, putting in Boxer won't do it. New: Also pls TLPD-ize your lists, i will only count lists which are formatted that way! So how would it work? It's pretty simple, just post your top 10 in this thread. I will go through every post and add the points up. The point distribution will be like that: 1. place = 10 points 2. place = 9 points 3. place = 8 points etc. How much time do i have to post the list?
You will have two weeks, which means i will count every list which is posted till February 11. Yeah i thought about it, but people can still redo their lists/fine tune it a bit till the deadline so i thought why not open it now.
The deadline MIGHT change a bit though, i dislike that we see the first ro16 group of GSL before it, not entirely sure yet

Why do you have the guy who won WESG six spots behind the guy he beat in the finals? Shouldn't they be closer?
They were also in the same bracket for the IEM NA qualifier and you can go look up who made it out of that one

I'm going as far back as patch 3.8 in November. Reasonable timeframe and a massive patch to draw the line at. In that time Maru just has had better results overall compared to TY.
The win% and sample size is comparable but Maru has gone up against superior competition. Even in WESG, TY barely won over Maru and leading up to the finals Maru dropped no maps. Maru making a decent run in IEM Gyeonggi (of which TY was a big absence) and obliterating Dear and ByuL in The Loser Strikes Back is a huge diverging factor.

As for how I managed to also stick 5 people between them...
all of those people also made good showings at IEM Gyeonggi and/or have been posting great results in online cups that have way stronger competition in them than WESG.

Innovation Byun and Maru all look completely dominant (but not perfect) and are interchangeable. aLive is a dark horse in everything he enters and just went through Inno, Maru, Byun and Zest to qualify for IEM. TY is certainly great but beyond WESG I'm waiting for him to crush more than just one tournament. Dark is the only Zerg (besides soo) who regularly contends with everyone else in the top of the skill brackets. Gumiho is a bit like aLive with brief flashes of dominance and never not a contender, but usually loses to the best of the best in the end. Stats came out of the group of Death over Byun, Bunny and KeeN came out of group putting down Zest and Rogue. Just beyond #10 are Classic, Soo, Solar, Sos, herO, and Ryung.

This thread is depressing because it makes me realize that while I watch games quite often, I don't even know who is good anymore.
I would probably put Innovation 10 times and then go cry in a corner because not only I don't know who else to write but also the only player I have any idea about currently is the one I always mildly disliked. Then I will cry even more after realizing that "mild dislike" is the strongest emotion I have felt about SC2 in a long time.

Just missed it: Solar, Classic, the second-tier terrans.
Oh man, Maru has so many fanboys... To be fair, the three top Terrans are close. But it has to go to the guys who won IEM Gyeonggi and WESG. All three topped their GSL groups. And Maru failed to qualify for IEM in three tries, even after getting a seed for the final korean qualifier gifted to him. Maru still has shown very little in LOTV aside from Bo1's.
I really don't understand those who don't have Dark near the top. Best zerg in the world for all of LOTV, and the only player to be at finals of every season including Blizzcon.
Zest is looks to be getting back in form. And made it through to IEM with his back against the wall - hopefully he is over his big tilt.
