Hello. Today I decided to launch StarCraft and play a couple of games as I do very regularly. When I launched the game from the Battle.net launcher, I was given a 'pleasant' surprise of StarCraft failing to launch and displaying error messages (I will copy and paste them below) I tried restarting my system but that did not work, I tried re launching Battle.net too and that did not work either. Nothing has changed (to my knowledge) about my computer since the last time I launched the game which was less than 24 hours ago. I asked my friend if he could launch the game and it worked for him with no problems. Before I try reinstalling the game I decided to get feedback on this problem incase I completely waste time doing that. Here is some information about the error(copied and pasted) and my system below:
- After clicking 'Play'
Files that help describe the problem: C:\Users\Connor\AppData\Local\Temp\WER14C9.tmp.hdmp
- After clicking 'Cancel'
The application was unable to start correctly (0xc0000005) Click OK to close the application.
-After clicking 'OK'
An error occurred starting StarCraft II. Please try again.
(Error 2:-1073741819)
- Some info about my system
Operating system: Windows 7
Processor: Intel Core i5-3330 CPU @ 3.00GHz
RAM: 8GB
System type: 64-bit
Graphics card: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 650
Total available Graphics memory: 4095MB

Error 2 is a generic message for Windows being unable to launch the executable file, so there could be a number of causes for why it wont work. From security programs, to needed Windows updates, to the wrong version of SC2 being selected in the launcher.
Since u mentioned how u 1st used the launcher, perhaps its the launcher giving u the trouble & not the game files itself? You may want to check to see if you have the "Launch Battlenet Client 32-Bit" checked. If it is, try unchecking it & fire it up. You can also delete the Battle.net files in case they became corrupted somehow. Here's the steps from Blizzard: https://us.battle.net/support/en/article/6504
If those steps didnt work, have u tried launching the game from the SC2Switcher.exe? Path: "C:\Program Files (x86)\StarCraft II\Support\SC2Switcher.exe"
Another suggestion to try is to disable ur antivirus/firewall programs temporarily to see if they're blocking it. Since there was a recent patch, this in itself may be the issue. Powercycling your modem/router never hurts either if that hasnt been done in awhile.
Issues that pop up can be frustrating to deal with, but i wouldnt uninstall & reinstall just yet because this doesnt sound like a critical error. I have faith that you'll be able to solve it soon! Good luck!

Thank you so much for your help man! Those were really good suggestions, but unfortunately none of them are working. I have even tried re installing the game all together but that did not work either. Thought it has been a while since I have reset my PC, and that usually fixes everything no matter what lol, so I may have to resort to that. Thank you anyway for your really good suggestions, I tried to follow them the best I could but none of the worked. Lets hope I come across something and I wont have to reset windows lol.

Hey Ceemo, I'm pretty sure I had the same problem. Try opening your Task Manager and searching for StarCraft 2 in the 'Processes' section. There seems to be some bug where the process is running even when the game is not. Ending the executable in your Task Manager should let you launch the game.

I agree with StateSC2. Sometimes I encounter the same error as you do and in 50% it helps. Concerts are awesome, especially Brett Eldredge concerts which are always state-of-art.
