mYinsanity’s Academy has grown somewhat thin over the past months, with Blysk being promoted to the main team and QueenE, Reynor and Narcotic no longer being part of the academy. As such, we will begin taking new applications to bolster the ranks for 2016. It will be a somewhat lengthy process, as underlined below, but we believe that this is the best way to find the perfect fits for our team. First, though, we’re pleased to announce the first two additions to the academy.
Romain “
FunK” Altenbach has been one of the strongest Swiss players for going on a year now, and in 2015 under the Romandy Gaming banner he achieved success both locally, winning the SwitzerLAN, as well as having solid showings in Dreamhack Tours and Dreamhack Stockholm. We expect great things from FunK in the future, and are excited to welcome another Swiss prospect into our team. FunK had this to say:“For 2016 I set my goals in Starcraft 2 a step up, and I think mYinsanity is the best team to help me accomplish them. I'm really looking forward to start working at them; at the very least, it should be a lot of fun. Huge thanks again to Romandy Gaming who always treated me better than I could have hoped.”
Brandon “
RayReign” Bernatz is an American Protoss player who has really come into his own with the switch to Legacy of the Void. Now a mainstay of the upper ranks on the North American server, RayReign has already started to make a name for himself with LotV tournament wins against the likes of Bly and puCK. He will be looking to solidify his position as one of the top Protosses in the Americas region this year. He had this to say:“I am very happy to be joining mYinsanity. My goal is to train hard with the team and perform well at a WCS Circuit event. I want to become one of the best and will strive to do so.”
The recruitment for the remaining spots will be done in two phases: the application phase and the trial phase. First, we will be opening appliactions to anybody who is in the master league or above. Once we have had time to comb through all of the applications, several will be selected to join the team on a trial basis. During the trial period, we will get to know the trialists more from a personality standpoint to see who is most likely to gel well with the existing teammates.
