YoDa, B4, Gerrard arrested for match-fixing - Page 60

Based on the official Police investigation, only the above players have been implicated in matchfixing. There is no reason to further accuse other players and teams until we get more information. Incessant blind accusations will not be tolerated. Please read the thread and the updates before posting.

As of page 54 we will be moderating against match fixing accusations for players who were not caught in this incident, including those using voided Pinnacle bets as evidence.

I hope all those involved are found and punished for their shameful behaviour. Almost as importantly, I hope this doesn't ruin the apparent rise of SC2 in Korea.

Maybe the living conditions for korean esport pros are particularly bad? Perhaps its because of betting being illegal to begin with and therefore organized by criminal organisations who are more keen to fix matches? only speculations of course.

Gerrard never paid salaries to his players, he even prohibited players to use air-conditioner in team house during this summer (maybe to save money). Gerrard didn't care about Prime's SC2 team but paid his full attention on his LoL team.

More ironically, even his LoL team cannot have five enough good computers to practice LoL, so Gerrard took iG (invictus Gaming, the Chinese pro team)'s two computers for practicing and never returned them.

What's more, Gerrard took ByuN's top-class personal computer (which values about $1,200) to team house, not only never returned it, but sold it for money.

It is sad to see both Gerrard and Prime as SC2 veteran come to such an shameful end.

Of all the things I've read about this scandal, this is the worst.

Yes this confirms that Gerrard is a complete son of bitch.

@Topic:

So in the end Marine King was just a bad player going ultimate foreigner :/ ?

Anyway must be bad to be on Flash shoes right now... The only game he won on R1 was fixed.

Prime will probably be remember most for being a joke in proleague and match fixing. That's kind of a shame tbh. Despite all of this Prime did house some of the best players to ever play sc2 like MKP, Maru and Polt.

At least there are no "big" names here, perhaps only YoDa which makes me really sad since he was performing really well in round1 and showed his potential.

Being a progamer is hard, not to mention if you are not being payed what you were supposed to. YoDa was even blackmailed so I have some sympathy for him, although B4 only lost 1 game banning him for life seems (to me) a bit over the edge.

Lets forget this and move on.

Yep, lost to Rogue, Losira, Dark, BrAvO, herO and Bomber. None of those are shameful, but still. Also the only time he won a game his team lost to Prime.

It was against Flash though, quite frankly B4's lucky to be banned and not left to be hung, drawn and quartered by the millions of fanboys who still think Flash is relevant

With the amount of posts you make about Flash, it seems he's at least still very relevant to you.

So your telling me KT lost 1-4 to prime in round 1 and still made the playoffs?

It's sad but nothing surprising to hear match-fixing had deep roots in Korea still. I'd hope it doesn't affect the scene as much as the revelations tied to sAviOr, especially with LotV approaching. I even feel bad for Gerrard, he had to make a hard decision between keeping his team and his players afloat with dubious money and beg his family. Unfortunately, this is one of those things that can't be forgiven.

I wonder if Blizzard will say something about this. Will they ban YoDa and B4 from WCS/Starcraft or even any Blizzard game?
Maru and Serral are probably top 5.

Korean esports scene is too crowded so it's really hard to make a living for pros players if they dont have a really good sponsor behind them. Why do you think some of them, shameless, go to Europe/NA ?
As soon as betting comes, match fixing occured that's why it's illegal not the other way around
