YoDa, B4, Gerrard arrested for match-fixing - Page 32
Forum Index > SC2 General |
Based on the official Police investigation, only the above players have been implicated in matchfixing. There is no reason to further accuse other players and teams until we get more information. Incessant blind accusations will not be tolerated. Please read the thread and the updates before posting. As of page 54 we will be moderating against match fixing accusations for players who were not caught in this incident, including those using voided Pinnacle bets as evidence.

Apparently a former ESports reporter was involved as well. the 11--> 12 is because 1 guy is on the run and is being hunted down Especially sad because the ESports scene has been continuously educated on illegal bettings and there are actual records of players like Soulkey and Solar saying no to brokers.

I find it highly unlikely that YoDa is the only one Gerrard got to matchfix. Lol @ anyone who defended MKP. Maybe it's worth revisiting that topic, but we need to be careful slippery sloping into additional accusations until we can gather more evidence.

Unfortunate that he felt that he had to break the law to keep the team going, but he suffer the consequences of his acts. I really don't think he did it out of pure greed, think about it, the team has been struggling financially for years now and they tried to make ends meet in a legitimate fashion, but it wasn't enough. GL in life to Gerrard and YoDa, I really liked him back when he was on IM. He really dominated back then. Keep your chin up.

Some of the shady games were likely just stupid players. That's why TL never openly accused anyone until there was actual evidence. But at least 5 are now confirmed dirty. We can crucify people when we actually find out which games they were.

Did he "corrupt" his players, no. I don't know what actually went down, but I think you should give a little benefit of doubt or at least wait out to hear testimonies before coming down on Yoda. Yoda is 22 years old and has been playing full-time Starcraft since he was at least 18. While he is legally an adult, I don't know any 22 year olds who have it together. When you're 22, dedicated your entire post-school life to Starcraft, your career is shot, and you don't know what to do with your future, it would be harder than normal to turn down this criminal opportunity presented to you by your trusted coach. Coaches are like parents to these kids (22 is still a kid in my eyes, especially when they don't have any real life experience), and if you offer a bunch of people the equivalent of a 1st place prize pool in a major tournament, one of them are going to cave. However, if Yoda was not largely persuaded by Gerrard, and decided this largely on his own, it would be fine to come down on him. tl;dr Yoda is still pretty much a kid. Gerrard may have had great influence over his actions. Maybe not. Wait before pitchforks

Why even have these things even affiliated with your organization/event? Government should go legalist and purge these scum. (For those in America) Sites like DraftKings and FanDuel are getting investigated for being in the grey zone of gambling laws.
