I'd like to see the possibility of picking a color for ladder though. It should happen, as it did with stronger team colors. Great interview.

There sure should be skins and such to customize the game, but I'll never agree with an opinion that possibility to pay money for modifying ladder games is going to make the game more appealing. Instead I really hope for good tweaks for the Arcade. The customization mentioned above belongs just there. If you want Day9 voice packs or whatever modification you want then just play with the extension mod. But unless people realize that ladder is the "tryhard" mode, and not 100% of StarCraft II, I guess the begging will never end. I'd like to see the possibility of picking a color for ladder though. As of now, they've promised not to abandon it, but they have no financial incentive to support it. It doesn't have to be ladder, they could have microtransactions for Allied Commanders or something.

What financial incentive Blizzard has for supporting Diablo III then? They release new content with every season and it doesn't have a monetizing system. Removed auction house seems to be a different thing.

All he said is that they won't be used for Allied Commanders at the get go. From what I've heard from Blizz friends, they might not come at release but they are still quite likely at some point in the future to be used in other ways... Have they ever said Reaper of Souls was the last D3 expansion? No, in fact, they said at Blizzcon last year they already had plans for more than one further expansion for D3.

He clearly mentioned that they don't consider the platform for user-created content and making money out of it in the close future. 19:22. I went a little overboard since I had in mind all the recent discussions about Blizzard's own shop for in-game things, which personally I don't want to see. Basically I started discussion on something else, my bad.

SC1 had no monetizing system and they kept on patching it... same with WC3.. its why their brand is so fucking strong. also, look for another D3 expansion... all the "aRPG guys" i know are jizzing all over themselves with D3 season mode... Blizzard will capitalize on that with an expansion of some kind.

I like a lot what Blizzard is doing with D3 and their seasons, sometimes I'm catching myself daydreaming that all of the Blizzard games are testing fields for ideas that when successful will be transferred to StarCraft... lol. I wish the achievements were meaningful, and maybe seasonal like in D3. The ones we've got for multiplayer were not thought out at all. Macro master? Single achievement for building few units at once? In a game that's so repetitive? Come on...

Removed auction house seems to be a different thing. It's hopeless. SC2 will not get any proper support post-LotV. Sure, it'll get a few bug fix and balance patches, but it will never get any new features again or new content or removal of macro mechanics or any major gameplay changes, unlike Dota 2, HotS, LoL, or CS:GO. And given the way Blizzard is rushing LotV out of the door, chickening out of macro mechanics removal, making no changes to the terribly inaccurate ranking system, just to make a swift exit from this dying RTS market, SC2 is now a lost cause. Sigaty talks about unannounced features post-launch. However, if you look at the features post-launch for WoL and HotS, they are nothing impressive, merely fix ups for blatantly broken features (like fixing the popularity system in the arcade). If you're expecting modern features to be added like in-client streaming in Dota 2, the chance is virtually zero. The talk about the Heroes and the SC2 engines diverging is also very troubling. They should be converging so that new features and UI can automatically be shared so that a feature developed for one game is automatically apply to the other game. However, the interview questions were excellent.
