WCS 2015: "One region per season" rule removed

During the registration process of WCS Season 1 China Qualifier, Axiom's Korean player (T)

Heart signed up, he is coming to China to study starting this March and has acquired necessary student visas. However, due to language barriers (there is no foreign language sign-up page at the moment) Heart did not have his personal information correctly input thus his entry was considered invalid and he was subsequently disqualified.

Another issue raised during the discussion between Netease, Axiom and Blizzard is that Heart already played in both GSL and SSL qualifiers and has qualified for http://wiki.teamliquid.net/starcraft2/2015_Global_StarCraft_II_League_Season_1/Code_S, according to the 2014 WCS Player Handbook it is not allowed to play in more than one region per season, however on this case Blizzard has confirmed that this rule is not being carried over to 2015 so it is allowed for players to play in GSL, SSL and the worldwide WCS simultaneously.

Heart will be eligible for signing up and playing in future WCS China events, participating in both Korean WCS events and the worldwide WCS.

So heart can't play season 1 in china but for the next seasons he is eligible to play ?

Olimoley mentioned in a previous thread that foreigners could technically play SSL. GSL and WCS. So this isn't that surprising.

Actually think it through, it's not like there are a lot of players that can or wants to play in both regions anyway, the visa requirement will make sure it's not a common thing.

This is only logical, if this were not the case Scarlett and Jim could not play in WCS since they competed in SSL

I agree, this doesn't sound like something new to me either, Blizz already said earlier, that GSL/SSL would be open to foreigners and it would be weird, if the barrier is only closed in one direction and open in the other. The global SSL invites should confirm this.
