Not really upsets, in my opinion. Since the widow mine was changed back, all the top tier Terrans have been handily beating Zergs. The map pool seems to give Terrans a bit of an edge too. All the Zerg players were knocked out of the tournament were all playing Terrans, with the exception of Life (who played Zest).
ZvP is much more interesting these days. Definitely watch all the Life vs Zest games, you could tell that Life really prepared well for the matchup.
TvZ Terrans are doing the same bio composition as it trades favorably with all tiers of Zerg units. It also seem like the Zerg player has a notably smaller margin of error than the Terran player. Once in a great while a Terran throws in mech. Last game I remember with mech was Innovation vs. DRG during last GSL. He used it in one game during that series vs Swarmhosts. Hope we don't have a ZvT finals at Blizzcon. (Never thought I would hear myself saying that.)
Taeja was even beating Zergs before the widow mine was reverted back to HotS version with the old map pool. I don't think there's a Zerg in the world who can beat him right now. Maybe Life will prove me wrong.
So the series I would really recommend are: 1. Zest vs Life (Seriously watch this!) 2. Taeja vs SoO (Taeja was basically in control the whole time, but I love watching his games.) 3. Classic vs Polt

I will admit that I am a longtime Polt fanboy, and my judgment might be swayed, but I found game 5 of Classic vs Polt to be full of a few too many maddening mistakes to be terribly enjoyable to watch. I'd recommend watching the first 4 and just skipping the last.

From unpredictable, the tournament become TOTAL unpredictable! :D Still I'm happy for MMA and Classic.

My man classic won so I'm happy. I hope he can beat herO too, he didnt impress me much. I wasnt impressed with bomber at all either, he just got a great build vs jaedong twice and played one decent game vs arguably the weakest player there, also showed nerves I guess. I think with his PvT preparation already done, Classic would beat bomber and make the finals if he beats herO first

hihi does anyone have the link to the vods i would like to see polt going mech just missed it and not sure where to find it. please and thank you.
edit nvm found it

Lets note that Zest and Soo lost, yes, but both were playing exposed and against excellent players with considerable international experience. Honestly I was more surprised Classic beat Polt. Innovation now seems the favorite out of the bottom half of the bracket, while Bomber continues to look unstoppable on his half of the bracket. Life is the big winner of the weekend with a classic series against Zest. Is it time for SC2's original wunderkind to claim his throne as best inthe world?

my fantasy team I had MMA as my most risky pick with zest, polt, and soO as shoe ins......

I have big respect for Artosis but his casting for the soO-Taeja series was completely deluded. The whole time he was going on and on about how soO is the godliest sc2 player to walk the earth, he's going to be blizzcon champion etc etc; all while Taeja was ahead of him, outplaying him in straight-up macro games and eventually taking the series in a decisive 3-1. Not only that but he was doing it in the phase of the game where terrans are weakest, in long 40 minute slugfests where zerg has hive tech, 3/3 and can expand to endless bases. Capping it off with a godly hold of cc-first wrong way scout vs correct scout bane all-in, with virtually no units, pretty much worst case scenario build order openings.
Yeah soO is incredibly skilled but he's mentally weak and that is not what champions are made of. Meanwhile Taeja is actually one of the greatest sc2 players to walk the earth, he is clutch, in the only score that matters it's 11-0 for Taeja, but Arty could barely spare a word for him since he's not a "Kespa elite."
Arty was just getting all the calls wrong, at one point he's like Taeja should stop building widow mines just because he got a few bad connections. You don't give up on your best unit just because you took a few bad engagements! Terran has little chance against soO's mass baneling style without some sort of AOE, which of course means widow mines. Of course Taeja never stopped building them and later on he raped a few armies worth of banelings with some sick mine hits, and after evaporating soO's final baneling wave with a pair of mines, Arty could only say, "widow mine good unit."
Fucking great series btw, one of the best I have ever seen in starcraft. Could have and should have been a final, so much better than the last GSL final. Two players at the top of their races duking it out for every single inch, every mineral, every hp, and the best player won in the end. Actually there have been so many fantastic games and series so far, blizzcon is actually living up to the hype.

Artosis mistakenly hyping players is part of the fun. Otherwise how could we make fun of him? :/

JD vs Bomber was quite good also. Except game 5 which was ridiculous greed unpunished ending up in a beating

This last game was so anticlimatic... I loved the series but that last map... Terrible map. Like what could JD do? Those gold are a nonsense.
