Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Polt say that he was going to move back to Korea soon? It was in an interview at Red Bull he said that he was going to move back or move on or something. The only thing I can recall is Polt saying he wanted to win really badly because it was going to be one of his last.
Oh, if this is a full region lock, I predict a huge dive in viewership for WCS NA. EU won't be effected as much since a lot of Koreans are actually living there. I believe MC, Yoda and First are living together? Not sure about the rest of the Koreans, but a few of the others probably live somewhere close to the venue
Wait, new thought. Who's going to be taking over WCS America? Aren't the WCS EU guys taking over for WCS NA at the moment?
Now the only region worth watching will be korea. If the other regions have 2 koreans in the finals, and that's more than likely, those games will be the only worthwile games of the whole season for america and europe. Good job blizzard, good job.

i will probably be alone, but this is bad for the skill levels of WCS europe and america. welp, at least foreigners can feel important again when they win meaningless koreanless tournaments.
I kind of agree, this neuters the foreign scene a bit. Koreans competeing everywhere was helpful for foreigners and now we won't have that.
For the european scene most of the top koreans there actually live there already (MC Yoda First Stardust etc.) so it shouldn't be a big deal
Leaving us with Patience, San, Mvp and Golden. Out of these players, I am not really sure about Patience and Golden, maybe someone knows more but I don't think they currently live in Europe. Mvp lives in Korea, but GEM house is probably there for him if he wants to. San is on Taiwanese team, so depending on where he will live and how exactly the rules will be, he probably could get into WCS NA through Taiwanese qualifiers. So at worst, WCS EU will lose 4 KR players.

AFAIK, Patience and Golden live in Germany.
Pretty sure they do, but Golden is also retiring to go to the military in December I'm pretty sure
I think the real problem is that Blizzard's flip-flopping over WCS without actually supporting both the Korean scene and the foreign scene. When Blizz opened up the floodgates for Koreans to go abroad, Koreans got a lot of the loot, while many foreigners got the shaft. NA got it worst with all of the WCS failings and a relative lack of competitive market there. Now Blizz is going full region lock and it's going to crush the Koreans who went abroad, and possibly Koreans at home, because they're squeezing so many players into such a small competitive scene (with the almost sole exception of Proleague).
Blizzard needs to give WCS a focus: is it for the best or is it going to be representative? They need to cement their intent and then provide the resources to support the other half. Only then will WCS have any hope of encompassing both of those qualities. What Blizzard is doing now will only result in players floating around, some retiring, and teams disbanding.

Yeah he's leaving for the military after Blizzcon I think.
Did not read all of the previous comments, but I really, really miss the global finals of 2013. I know they removed them because they supposedly overshadowed the regional champions, but I think the relative obscurity of the latter was more a result of the whole wcs dominion than of the global finals. I really cannot see that the regional champions this year has got more repect from the lack of global finals. And the hype level of the global finals was beyond ...

Polt never said he was going to move back to Korea.
// WCS Reset For WCS 2015 we will be resetting all points, Challenger, and Premier slots. All players will be required to participate in their respective regional qualifiers to be a part of WCS 2015 Season 1. //
Just no.
Waste of time and a kick in the face of players who earnt their spot in the previous season. So what if happens to be a 'new year', it is the next season.

TIL, having all the best players in one place stagnates a scene.
Initially it makes for higher skill but if the money pool isn't enough to support the 2nd tier of players there will hardly be any chances for new talents to rise, not to mention migration to MOBAs.
Thumbs down. This will only make life tougher for the Korean ex-pats trying to stay competitive while rewarding weaker foreign scenes (particularly NA).
I guess all the "grow domestic talent" crowd got their wish. Have fun "relating" to the new "talent" and keep telling yourself that you like them because of the "personality" not skin color.
Everyone should be valued based on their skill and dedication in any craft. I guess Blizzard disagrees with that sentiment.
