www.rankedftw.com
What is This?
A site that tracks ladder team rankings over time. This makes it possible to track progress to something that is more stable than leagues.
There is also a statistics section with ladder statistics over time. This is not the main purpose of the site but a side effect of ranking all players/teams every day, so the data is basically already there for presenting.
Right now I have only made the data for 1v1 teams accessible on the site, but if people likes it and want to I'll probably add the other modes as well.
Why am I Doing This?
I am making Ranked FTW mainly because I think it is a fun thing to do. I got the idea when I was annoyed by the constant changes to league distribution, trying to get to diamond was a random thing. :-) I wanted to track my skill development. If I need to track everybody's rankings to track my own, why not make that available on a site? There are other flaws with this method of tracking progress though, the main flaw is that the player base changes (both skill wise and who is playing).
The original plan was to get data from the beginning of StarCraft 2. It is possible to get all ladder data using the Blizzard API, unfortunately I have found no way to deduce league, game version or mode from ladders older than season 15.
Is This not Already Done by Other Sites/Programs?
Well, maybe the Sc2gears MMR-plugin is the closest thing, but that requires a program to be installed and you can only track yourself (which I did not have). And only from the time that you started using it (or if you have replays saved).
The SC2ranks site is great, but the ranking history is limited to two seasons.
ggtracker is an excellent way to track progress and probably much more relevant than this, but also with completely different data.
Timeline
- September 2014: New race stats page, with 1v1 race statistics over time for each region and league.
- August 2014: Site is made public with 1v1 team ladder rankings, league distribution and 1v1 team count stats.
- November 2013: Starting to gather data. Due to how Blizzards ladder API works, season 15 (or season 5 - 2013, starting 2013-08-27) is the first season with complete and categorized data.
Suggestions / Comments
If you check it out I am happy to receive suggestions or other comments here. The plan is to continue developing features (in a slow pace) as long as there is something interesting to do.

Thanks for you doing this. Love statistics, but they depress me even more. Since 1,5 years i am always on the exact crossline between Diamond and Master and can´t achiev my Master goal caused by different inactivitys. Thanks!

I would love to see my WOL data:/

Plz for the love of god get rid of the glare/shine effect in your 100% stacked progress bars.

Great site, thank you very much !

I would love to see this for my 2v2 rank, my mate and I are trying really hard to get to masters.

Not talked directly, but I have read the threads about the MMR-plugin.
I have another question for you though (who are experienced in doing ladder analysis). What way do you think is best to handle team games? The most common thing is to handle premade vs random teams separately? Maybe this is the correct way to do it even though they can be matched against each other. When I think about it it is pretty much the same situations as ranked vs unranked...

I will probably add 2v2:s right after I have made a race-stats page. Do not want to promise a date though. ;-)

Thanks, I will look into it.
Edit: It was a mix up of 1v1 WoL and HotS rank when displaying player. It will be updated to the correct league at next ladder update.

I love this! I am ALWAYS trying to guess my percentile rank.
Apparently I was in the top 3% a month ago. I had always guessed 5% was my peak. You just made my day dude... I very much appreciate all of your work, this is lovely!

When I think about it it is pretty much the same situations as ranked vs unranked... Teams are tricky. Remember how MMR works for teams:
Players have a separate MMR for 2v2 random, 3v3 random, and 4v4 random each.
Then, players have a separate MMR for every single premade team. Players share that "team MMR" with the other people on the team.
I always analyze randoms and pre-made teams separately. But, there might be an aesthetic problem with doing team charts like you have done for 1v1's though, because some players are on many (10+) teams. I'm not sure how to show that kind of data concisely

I don't know about anyone else, but I love checking this site to see my percentage rank!
As far as I can tell, it stopped working as of Nov 8 ... this year. If OP could do anything to update or fix it, I would appreciate that. If not, thanks for the work that was put into this, so useful.

Nios.kr is being incredibly unreliable lately, and rankedftw is frankly a better site. Is there any chance you could increase the rate it updates? Right now I think it must update once a day.
