The best can earn a good income living the dream of every kid: doing nothing but playing video games.
But what happens when it's over? As in traditional sports, the time comes when every player's career ends. Unlike established sports like football or baseball, there hasn't been a clear career path for retired pro gamers. Like so much about eSports, ex-players are writing - and rerwriting - their own rules, and finding creative ways to stay involved with the game.

The article is mainly about the lives of gamers, pro, amateur, and those who evolved or flipped their role to behind the scenes/commentary stuff. It mentions/interviews a number of well known gamers, their lifestyles, before college, after college, those on teams, those who never really make much of their gaming career. Those who switch games, those who just started as a hobby and turned out to be naturally talented, etc. etc. It covers many notable faces from all of the MLG circuit games, SC2, LOL, DOTA2, COD, HALO, etc.
It goes on to interview the likes of Day9, Husky, etc.
As in any competitive endeavor, a time comes when all players have to put down the mouse and keyboard for good.
Overall really good article. Maybe a reality check for many people who visit this site. Should probably be cross posted into Community Forum(?) since it covers other Mobas and stuff that people play on this site.
PS- Sorry couldn't find author.
