I say this without any malicious intent or disrespect whatsoever, but it's very reasonable and expected that the players who have very slim chances of winning such a stacked event should complain about the distribution. Of those mentioned, HerO would do well in theory, but the all-or-nothing situation is probably far too much for his already-shaky nerves. :/ While I get your point, remember that the announcement is less than an our old and that it is 5 a.m. in korea. It´s not, that the korean tournament favorites say positive things about it, they just have´nt found out yet. And all the guys I listed know the economic sitiuation of Starcraft from a players perspective.

ThorZaIN says it's a bad decision. Hes got personal experience. Should've made a split in silent like Naniwa and Scarlett did. I doubt anybody will hold something like that against the players. Fully agree! Atleast I hope they do this and then subtly release some info about it ![]() would be pretty stupid to not do it but revealing it on the other hand can backfire.

The aren't many situations in life where one day makes that big of a difference, so no biggie.

As for helping progamers make money, ESL is the organiser with the largest span of countries in which they organise events in as many continents and for as many scenes as possible. Singapore, Brazil, Ukraine...they go EVERYWHERE, and they always invite the 'local champion' directly into the tournament to give people a hometown favourite. They provide qualifiers for all the regions, including Taiwan, Oceania, etc to make sure everyone has a shot. Apart from that, they organise hundreds of smaller regional and local tournaments such as the ESL Euro Series, the EPS in Germany and Spain, weekly and monthly cups etc. So really, they deserve no criticism at all from that front. They're just doing one event differently.
