I was a huge marineking anti-fan for a long time, but it's still sad to see him leave SC2. He was never my favorite player, but it was still really fun having him play games, as I'd always be guessing what silly strat he'd be doing. Never did stop hating the absurdly late GG's though, and I'm still mad to this day about that GSTL finals that they stole from Startale.

Regardless, it's unfortunate he's leaving, even though I didn't like him much, he still brought a ton of views and interest in the scene.

If he is already a sixth on prime that means hes doing fairly well. He definitely has the skills to play it, the question is motivation and team playeryness. (I just made that a word). Not sure how prime is doing, but he has a good shot of succeeding.

As usual, I'm gonna bring out Michael Scott to express my feelings about the retirement of a player I like:

God dammit. He was my absolute favorite player, so this makes me incredibly depressed. Was always rooting for him to win a GSL/WCS. 1 Season short of getting the Nestea Award. Now he's not going to get either.

Sorry, this news has just got me really, really down.

BUT HE NEVER WON A GSL! The world of esports is fucking cruel, man. This makes me legitimately sad, MKP was a monster back in the days and he came so close so many times. Can't help but think if he just could've gotten one championship his career would have been different. Regardless, the man was one of the innovators of terran in WoL and I hope he finds what he's looking for in the LoL scene.

The Prime teams are made up of amateur kids. None of them are highly regarded amateurs or in Challenger (the Grandmaster division of League). The teams will probably be a work in process, with both Optimus and Sentinel getting their asses kicked in the qualifiers. Will probably be until early next year before we see MKP play any games.

Oh wow, I was never a MKP fan per se but given the amount of spam threads/twitch chats had every. single. time. he played, I kind of feel sad for all those people who are probably logging on TL after work and seeing this.. maybe pulling a Michael Scott. Oh God, what if Life retires????
