While having no chance of making money on a team with no money to send him to any international events. He can go off to LoL, try his luck, and if he bombs and fails ala Puzzle and Coca, he can just return at the start of the 2014 WCS season.

He really isn't losing anything by switching to League. With no team league, he and everyone else on Prime not named Maru was completely fucked.

Well, apparently he made the decision 3 months ago, while he was still in WCS.

It's understandable that he made this decision. Just sad to see such an iconic player leave the scene.

I think this may mean that as many people have speculated already, the new season of SPL will include Prime, MVP, and LGIM, because we already knew that KeSPA's president said that the new season of SPL will probably have both SC2 and LoL (and they were negotiating). As the inven's article says, MKP is in Prime's LoL team, so this makes it even more likely the case.

Yes, it's prerry rare. I haven't heard of any SC2 progamers who ever made it, although there are some former BW progamers who made it onto pro teams in Korea (however they switched a lot earlier obviously. now it's a little late perhaps?)

Grape, former Samsung Khan Brood War player, switched to LoL and is the starting mid player from Najin White Shield. He was one of the strongest rookies during last season.

It's not even hypothetical anymore, SPL will have a LoL league in 2014, which is the sole reason why MVP, IM and now prime switched to KeSPA; To be allowed into LoL's PL.

An icon leaves, but will be remembered. It makes sense, since he wasn´t able to make a splash anymore, and it seemed to cost him motivation-wise. Though I cannot imagine MKP as a team player. Maybe he learns that.

The sc2 scene in Korea is really weak. With out wcs and foreign tourney money, there wouldn't be a scene any more. Its being held up by teams getting sponsored in multiple game, blizzard having ties with some of the broadcasting companies, wcs and foreign prize money. I don't think its ever going to get better with the level of interest in korea, so we'd better hope that wcs stays popular and sponsors don't tell teams to stop using money on sc2 that they meant for lol.
