Why are ther no huge lans/weekend events in Korea? Those seem to do really well in Europe.

To me, looking ar the pro-league strem numbers, the huge amount of teams and players, and the struggle to find sponsors, it has been obvious that it could not remain that way. Esf and Kespa need to find a way to create excitement for their team leagues, we need drama and stroylines, bad boys and heroes. A "super bowl" between the 2 league winners and inviting more foreign teams would be a good place to start.

What would you blame KeSPA for regarding SC2? They abandoned BW, completely transitioned to SC2 and held OSL and ProLeague for it, despite being anything but sustainable.

If you want to "blame" anyone, blame the Korean public, because they just don't like SC2 very much. What can KeSPA do? Pump more money into a bloated scene? Their sponsors want ROI, that's just how the world works...

Slasher provided one some time ago on reddit. And yes, woongjin group was in financial problems, granted i still do not understand why they are left with sOs (who does not even bother to wear uniform at foreign events it seems /sarcasm), Soulkey and essentially C-team, kicking out free, ZerO, Bravo and Aria.

It's weird that they let Mekia/Impact go because he was being overshadowed by Soulkey and Zero. And now they're like, nah we don't need zero. Would that have been a better pickup had Axiom waited one day?

WHAT THE HELL!? ZerO is my favorite player, and brought so many fans to Woongjin (and WTF one of the 6 dragons, how can they just get rid of Free like that?!) . He just made it into Challenger too! >. I can't believe this, I will never forget.

I really hope ZerO finds a good team to join, maybe one day I'll be able to meet him at a foreign event .

ZerO probably would ask more than Mekia. Also, i suppose Axiom was aware of the fact that Mekia was released from roster and picked him up on the spot.

Its been in receivership since I think late 2012? A lot of mid-size Chaebols (like STX) got stomped in the 2008 crisis. Its likely that Woongjin is being sold off in parts, and its also highly likely that the court and creditors would not look kindly on them spending money to support an e-sports team.

Hanbin, Aria and Organ are B-team players but ZerO, free, BrAvO aren't. This looks very grim for WJS and an now unlikely participation in PL.

aria zero bravo and especially free are players with proleague experience so foreign teams should look to get them. Probably will end up sone retired some on esf teams

Yeah, that seems highly unlikely for 'em to be able to participate in PL with their current roster with 3 B (or even C) teamers and 2 aces. In fact, they may end up being NSHS of PL, should they participate with such a roster. But yeah, i expect at least 3 (or 4) of them to get picked up by some other team. Or retire /
