He predicted the correct result in every match in that group (including Naniwa over Innovation), IIRC. I love all four players that are left over, so I don't care too much who wins, but I kinda hope it's Taeja vs Jaedong in the finals. I feel like that would produce the highest quality games. I have a feeling Bomber vs Taeja is going to be incredible too and I feel like whoever can emerge from that battle should go into the final as the favourite.

His match by match breakdown was TaeJa > INnoVation NaNiwa > Duckdeok TaeJa > NaNiwa duckdeok > INnoVation NaNiwa > duckdeok correct results and still an impressive prediction, but not every match right

That also played a huge role. Alive actually should have 3-0'd First being the more experienced and much more talented player, not to take anything away from First, but he just got lucky alive is a choker and was jet lagged. And Naniwa made way WAY too many mistakes against Jaedong. I don't think JD's ZvP improved at all, it's just that his Protoss opponents made way too many mistakes. Rain, let's not even talk about him, and MC? Well first off he failed his all ins from micro mistakes and secondly he did Masters mistakes like forgetting the zealot at the hole. tl;dr...alive is better than first, and naniwa, mc and rain are all better than JD, they just made mistakes. What a joke post. I've been far more impressed with First than I ever have with Alive. He's actually one of the few Protoss players I truly find entertaining. If anything it should have been a 3-0 from First. Alive's always had potential too, and did score some nice results back in 2012, but get real. For a long time Alive has been mediocre, and this tournament was the best showing he's had in awhile. First on the other hand, even prior to OSL posted impressive results at two IEMs and in GSTL.

I fully agree. aLive's been one of those sick Korean Terrans that can pull off amazing things from time to time. Here, let me name some who are just as good or better: SuperNova, TaeJa, Flash, Bomber, TY, INnoVation, YoDa, Maru, Mvp, KeeN, Ryung, Dream, ByuN. First has been one of those Korean Protoss players who dazzle you with such good play that you legitimately think he might be the next Protoss champion. List of people who are as good as him or better (at the moment): Rain, maybe PartinG. Too little of Sora to tell. I think First is solidly a cut above HerO, herO, sOs (dropped off a lot), Flying, YongHwa, Squirtle, and duckdeok.

I just wanted to stop by and say that I think the Korean translator/host (didn't catch his name) is doing a really great job. Great energy, transitions, and questions. I don't speak Korean, but through body language, it seems like by the way he's asking them questions and his personality, he's able to get more out of these Korean pros during the interviews. It feels like I get a lot more out of them during his interviews that I ever have in any other tournament. (I hope he's not just adding color to their answers to make them more fleshed out?) Hire this man again and give him a raise. Thanks.

Did he just not have a contract with T8 ? Or was the trade lock only there for eSF and kespa. EG is not and esf team.... and yes its only between esf and kespa

First introduced into the sc2 scene at the last WCS finals (at least from what I know) and since then he's been nothing short of a baller. Acer did a really long interview with him:

For what man is in need of faith when his eyes witness an absolute truth? An icon of the age, bathed in glory as is his right! I tell you now, my fellow Dongers, this truth all ye should know: Tonight, the Tyrant reigns.

Bomber's Law part 2: if Bomber does not disappoint, he is setting you up for an even BIGGER disappointment later in the tournament.
