WCS Europe wrapped up its Challenger League for Season 2, determining the last four group winners and finalizing the Season 3 Premier League Roster. ForGG, FireCake, KrasS, and Genius were able to grab the final four spots, with MaNa, Beastyqt, Tefel, and AlaStOr missing the cut.
Challenger League Group Stage ResultsTop two advance to Premier League. 3rd place remains in Challenger League. 4th place eliminated from Challenger League (must play in Challenger League prelims) *Siw and Stephano forfeited due to retirement.Detailed match results on Liquipedia
Overall, it was a season that offered several newcomers a chance to shine, while many veterans also lost their foothold in the Premier League. ShoWTimE, Targa, Noname, BlinG, FireCake, and Genius are all first time EU Premier League players, and will look to make the best of their opportunity. On the other hand, several players who were initially season into the Premier League at the start of the year dropped out, with SortOf, DIMAGA, Ret, Bly and MaNa needing to work their way back up from Challenger.

Pretty balanced but still Toss mostly.
TLO standing strong! If he makes it to the Season finals in the US then he has a good shot at making the top 16 for the Grand Finals. C'mon Liquid!
Where are you Ret!
3 Polish players (Mana, uzer, Tefel) lost their promotion matches QQ
Wow, I totally missed how ShowTime managed to secure himself the top spot in his group. Granted it wasn't (one of) the strongest group, but still mad respect for him! The same goes to KrasS, now we will finally see more non-Protoss Germans in Code S! :D
firecake .. how, just how ..
Wow 15 toss. GomTvT gone ESLPvP
Hoping to see Stardust make a deep run!
Wished SortOf and Ret had made it instead of 2 protoss, then the balanced would have been decent.
I'd just wish for Thorzain to provide some entertaining games again. Back in WoL, he was such a great guy, and I really miss him making strong appearances in tournaments.
Number of Koreans rising with every season. Now there are 9 Koreans in EU Premier. It's definitely slower, but I'm afraid of the trend..

Not to forget that 4th place finishers are completely out of Challenger (like Ret(!!!)).

Taeja's place in this Season Finals combined with Season 3 may land him there too hopefully!

So, should there be WCS Europe 2014 with same rules we will have 20 toss (11->12->15->i take a wild guess of 20)?

It's like the polar opposite of WoL where it was common to see ZZZZZZZZZZZZTTTTTTTTPP :D
This firecake thing is kind of a joke i hope. Otherwise lineup looks cool (lack a bit of zergies tho)
The problem being that the top 8 from last season still get in. So the fact the top 8 was 6 Protoss means the Protoss favouring is not going to end.
However a crap ton of Terrans got in this season and I would be surprised if MMA and mvp weren't up there at the end of the season. So it's not all bad. Zergs just gotta step it up. If FireCake can do it, so can you!
Some top Europeans are following Socke out of WCS I hope Socke, Strelok, Ret, Bly :'(
MaNa, Dimaga, Dayshi in challenger
Nice to see more up and coming Europeans like KrasS make it through...and this FireCake guy can't be that bad :X

They always told me the cake is lie but it is real!

Firecake actually looked reasonably good in his challenger league matches. To be honest, I wouldn't be surprised if he finished top 16..
If you acctually watched Firecake vs Mana two bo3 games, you would see how Firecake is sick up and coming player. GGs wp man
This just means that there needs to be a 4th WCS Region... That way we don't have to worry about rapid transitions. Think about it: what if Jim had more than just one week's time to prepare for this?
Some 1st hand conclusions: overflow of P, koreans and not only. Old faces going out for the most part (Beastyqt, Strelok, Bly, Ret, Elfi, even AlastOr)
Plus, as a reply to this:

Maybe he'll play better in semi-retirement?!

FireCake is the new stephanoooooooo
Protoss player only in PvP Groups pls ....
Last season we had Welmu, this season we have Firecake? Let's see if he gets far
Firecake ♥( to be the new stephano ? ). And thorzain made it, so happy for him.
I hope for a group with Duckdeok, Stardust, Tails and Shuttle
It's all about the Toss in Europe. Must be the better aesthetic sense.

Only 15 toss, rather disappointed tbh. That's only double the zergs +1. Oh well PvP isn't that bad these day's to watch.
Dimaga, Ret, San, Mana, Ghost of Stephano nooooo D:

Well, i think that toss train seems to be picking up the momentum and we may end with 20 toss in WCS EuroPvPe next season, should it be in the same format).

Does anyone know when the draw will be done for the group stage season 3?

problem is, he is now in premium league, so he deserves his arrogance now xD

Krass once again randomly deciding to wreck havoc. You can never count him out, he might just go beast mode again for 2 months.
time for Genius to PvP his way to the title!

You should look at Harstem's twitter. You'd see that his reputation crossed borders
He was nice during WCS though.

So excited to see TLO coming through! One of the few foreigners who's still competing at the very top with the Koreans. :D

Ok man this is totally wrong. Firecake is known because he's been one of the top random player on european ladder, such as Nerchio few years ago. One year ago he has defeat Adel during WCS France, that's one of the first time we saw him offline. He is also really present on french official bnet sc2 forums.
And well with Stephano retiring a new French zerg coming is like ... Interessant I guess
