Should that change, I'll be informed via TeamLiquid.NET. Could not have said it better. I loved their MLG tournaments - besides all the annoyances that plagued the events from time to time (RIP poor Decorah eagles), the events always were a blast to watch. However without SC2, I don't have any reason to watch MLG (or buy a ticket, I always bought a ticket, even for the somewhat silly Arenas we had last year, just to support MLG). Dear MLG, so long and let us know when you host a SC2 event again. Until then, gl with whatever you're doing.

Make me truly appreciate the level of maturity some people lack, and the complete absence of a filter. You make a post in a sc2 thread trashing on sc2. Good1.

There's just too much events going on and MLG having issues in WCS season 1 as well as the rise of dota2 meant that it's time for a change for them and more money that they can make. Personally, I've watched enough MLG the last two years and all the SCII I've watched has been great so I don't really mind MLG giving up SCII and moving on. Saturation is bad for the game and we're seeing its side effects. Edit: 4000 post! ^^

Shame for the entire scene but me personally dont really care about MLG. They do too many idiotic things and as a company, they are flat out boring. Never watched a entire MLG event and the last year, i maybe watched like 2/3 games each event and thats it.

Sundance is on Twitter complaining about all the negative email he's getting. Well no fucking shit, part of being a professional is acting professional and releasing this information without any details is very unprofessional. Negative emails are deserved in this case. And that really is the only reason I can be bothered to care about this. Whether I've watched the events or not I've had a premium pass for every event that MLG has held in the last 2+ years. I like watching high level StarCraft, they had high level StarCraft, so I supported them. Since Sundance is big on the New York culture: If you don't like MLG saying "Fuck you.", then say "Fuck you too." and say it with your wallet. If you're like me and you've purchased things in chunks, demand a refund. If you've recently purchased one of the MLG products like I have to show your support, send that shit back. Mine is already RMA'd and ready to go. Flight and accommodations canceled. In the end this doesn't hurt StarCraft, just the NA scene, not that MLG ever did anything to foster the NA scene to start with, they've always catered to the top tier Korean players. Still, now there is just one less event where NA hopefuls can go to enjoy their hobby. That also irks me. Personally I won't be supporting MLG until the middle of next year when they might be teaming up with CEO for a fighting game tournament. Seriously, vote with your wallet. Demand refunds. That support MLG and show them we care nonsense earlier in the thread? That's stupid. That's saying "Here, I'll still support you even though you don't support me." Fuck that, get your money back.

StarCraft 2 has plenty of major tournaments. Same thing if they dropped LoL for Dota 2, would LoL fans actually care? Nope. Plenty of other large LoL events. Same thing for Street Fighter. MLG dropped that and .. Oh look, the scene for that is alive and well and it has several huge tournaments every year all over the world. Point being, it's not the end of the world. IEM NYC in my eyes will replace MLG Columbus, and I have more faith in Carmac's verbal promise of the best IEM yet than I ever had in anything MLG did. So we aren't really losing out on a big event during that time, we are just switching gears to a new organization and tournament.

The only place SC2 is really popular is Europe, it has been the case since SC2's debut. Was even surprised that MLG committed that much into SC2 to make some huge shows during last couple of years.
