But the name "Wings" makes people think about chicken wings too much.

The abbreviation we should use is JA not GW. We usually use the sponsor name, not the team name. See CJ sans Entus, KT sans Rolster, STX sans Soul, etc.

Speak for yourself. Surely some people would think about buffalo wings too. As for myself? I think of the Detroit Red Wings and guess what? There are a lot of sports teams that use Wings. Nothing wrong with it.

If they use GW instead of JA, I'm going to be thinking George Washington every time I see one of their names >_>

Would've been 100x more awesome if Redbull subsponsored them before this happened heh.

For 2 years Kespa has been trying to get Korean Air to sponsor their 8th team. Finally they take the plunge... thanks to LoL I guess.

Not that I'm not super psyched about T8 getting a sponsorship, but it may not be the savior of sc2 that people think it is. Well, even if that's the case, isn't it awesome that LoL is helping out SC2 aswell now? That shows us that the full incorporation of LoL into KeSPA will bring good opportunities for SC2, too. Yes, I never said this isn't a positive step for sc2 division of T8. However, it goes to show how big LoL has gotten compared to Sc2. My fear is that eventually Sc2 will be demoted to Special Forces status or be abandoned altogether by KeSPA. It is hard to say that Sc2 is growing. Take a harder look. 3rd most played game in PC Bangs. More and more fans showing up to every event, every week. More and more events being broadcasted on TV. Or, you know, keep your eyes closed if you want. Does anyone actually have numbers for SC2? I keep hearing SC2 is dead in Korea or that its getting bigger but no one provides the numbers to back it up.

They do compete for as long as people spend time playing them. Dominant portion of esports interest comes from interest in the game itself.
By the way, is that Warcraft 3 at #8? Pretty cool to see people still playing that.

So technically it ranked 6 last time.

I was saying the idea of dropping "Green", with the name only as "Wings" itself.
