There is a lot more to it than just streaming. and i asked you what. And i'm gonna ask you what's your point, since whatever else it is facebook or twitter followers, idra has got it covered. Low stream numbers dont mean much. But high stream numbers mean hell of a lot. No, no they don't because that's only one aspect of the equation. Anywho, I'm not going to waste time arguing with you, which ironically is one of Greg's favorite pass-times and bitching. I guess that's just one reason his fan boys relate to him. See what I did there? -.^ EDIT: noticed you edited your post. So here's the last thing I'm going to say with regards to Greg. He does a lot of other things than just stream constantly and considering you sound like a fan boy of his I'm pretty sure you have a good idea of all his other extra-curricular stuff so let's end it there. well now that i realize you just dislike idra and talk out of your ass it's pretty clear yea.
Talk out of my ass? You sir are a riot and yeah we're done here. :V

Pure SC2 is boring to watch, even if it's Flash playing. People prefer some human commentary. I guess Stephano's popularity was unique because of his distinctive play-style coupled with good results.

While this is kinda awesome and I looooove watching KeSPA FPVoDs, I really hope he only streams a minimal amount. His main focus should still be private practice with his team and whatever else he does to be the best.

We can't know for sure though, but I really hope he doesn't stream much. idra is the 2nd most popular sc2 player. Jaedong would be a good indicator, he started at like what 12-15k but nowadays at about 3k? I dont see why flash would be any different.
At Flash's level, depending on frequency and length of the sessions, I think even a regular 50k+ viewers is possible . We have to consider the viewers from Korea(deal exclusive to Razer/Twitch AFAIK) and other parts of the world too. We are talking about the legendary Flash live streaming his practice FPVOD for the first time in history, now that's got to mean something every SC fans in the world!
And if he happens to enter GOD MODE in SC2 during this streaming deal...gosh $_$. Just hope Twitch can withstand the bandwidth.

Jaedong hasn't been doing very well in SC2. Koreans don't need to watch streams on their computer because they have 24/7 gaming channels on tv.
|
Well I guess that all the Terran streamers are in trouble when it comes to viewers, lol, actually all streamers will be suffering from this heh, When Flash starts streaming, he will literally have every possible viewer watching :-P
Regardless im SO HYPED to see flash stream, this will truly be an amazing experience. Thanks for this

I think you are way overestimating that number. As much as I would love being proven wrong, 50k is only a singular dream. Jaedong is every bit iconic as Flash is in the Starcraft world. Even if Flash may be more popular or well known, he will never consistently get 50k. Not to mention Korea generally does not really like SC2 as well as timezone differences. I would guess he will have similar streaming results as JD, perhaps slightly better or even lots better but never close to 50k. I can see him peaking at 25k-30k when he first starts streaming, though. JD's first session could have been better advertised, so I hope Flash's is done better. His stream will probably have similar viewership as Stephano's.
I hope I eat my words, and the whole world tunes in.

There aren't even 50k people at the same time interested in watching SC2 first person streams. And also he will never enter GOD MODE anymore like his 30 game winning streak in bw proleague, because SC2 is just not as rewarding in skill as bw. However, I'd be happy to be proven wrong.

you forget, that flashs decision making is legendary. thats why i will watch his stream

sc2 is less about decisions more about getting a ball of stuff and figuring out what you want in that ball.

I highly doubt that he'll hit close to 50k, but I think it'll definitely be a lot more popular than Jaedong's. Not only because Flash is just a better player than Jaedong, but also because he'll probably stream pretty infrequently, which will draw more viewers the few times he does.
|
Don't even expect 20k viewers on twitch the first time. People don't really care about watching really good players play, they would prefer seeing IdrA rage while offracing with Terran in diamond or some shit. He could reach like 15k the first few times or if he streams only rarely. Not more than 5k if he streams daily.
|
rethinking this, i am of the opinion that it will be a "flash" (blablapunblabla). Im sure the very firsts time he will stream, given that there is a proper announcement with "Tune in at (link) at XX EDT YY KST and ZZ CEST" it might very well hit 20 kish upwards because everyone, including doubters/sceptics will tune in.
but afterwards when people calm down, its "just" a really fucking good/fast Terran. The "OMGFLASHSTREAMING" will fade pretty fast...
|
If they announce the stream in advance, I can see easy 20k figures - it might plataeu a bit at around 10k, but I dont think it'll be anywhere near as "low" as Jaedongs numbers.
It will probably settle at 5k or so simply because its just the game, no talking (probably no keyboard cam/player cam) - thats still really good.
Taeja gets a a lot of viewers and he only plays the game (with a few random team games etc)

Let's be honest, it won't take long before IdrA has more viewers than Flash. Especially if Flash streams regularly enough (at least once a week). I don't see why people expect something radically different from what happened to Jaedong's stream.
