When Navi announced they would return to sc2, I fully expected to see his name on the list. However he was not and as the best ukrainian imo was a shock. And being without a team for almost 4 months and still getting great results is strange. Is there a reason for him staying teamless or has he slipped under the radar? I heard eg needs a new zerg

It could be just that he is asking for too much money. Id say he definitely could get a team very quickly if his price wasn't too high. Id say if he finishes high in WCS EU he can ask what ever he wants. Like he already beat Mvp on the road to the round of 16.

Best Ukrainian? That's really hotly contested at the moment, what with Strelok, Bly and Kas also doing very very well recently, arguably better than DIMAGA.

Anyway, I wouldn't worry about him. With someone of DIMAGA's skill level and reputation, it's probably more a case of him waiting for a good deal rather than no team wanting to pick him up. And even then, I think he's doing alright even without a team.

Because almost all well known foreign pros have become way too old to compete. Its better for a team to pick up young talent or korean code a/b players.

Well it might be money or some conditions that some teams cannot afford (lan's etc). Also, maybe he already signed personal sponsorship so he want to be teamless for some time like Grubby or WhiteRa. It could be that he found a team but havent announce it yet. Certainly excellent player, especially in last few weeks, he deserves a good team. I think he could fit anywhere but best in Empire or Mouz.

LOL.

4-0'd his WCS group and got some pretty good results in online cups? Clearly too old to compete. ;p

He said, he´s talking to at least one team during his WCS interview, so he should be being signed sooner or later.

they may be better (may, not sure about this), but u gain nothing out of them. If Shuttle shows up for WCS EU nobody cares, if Dimaga shows up, the crowd goes crazy.

Thats the reason why IdrA was/is one of the most earning players: he has a huge fanbase.

Dimaga is still without a team? I'm shocked to hear that. He is indeed a very talented player and was one of the best foreigners at the start of SC2. Let's all hope that a decent team will still acknowledge him as a skilled player and ask him to join their team. Without formal sponsorship he will sadly fade away as newer players cast a shadow over his past achievements.

It's at least consoling to know that when he streams he usually gets a large viewership which should support him financially for the time being.

I don't want age to be a factor in someone's retirement when he still has so much more to bring to the table in eSports. Dimaga is has a good personality and is practically a celebrity in the foreign eSports scene. Even if he is picked up as a coach for some team that should be good enough too, as long as he can continue to help grow the community and influence other players in a positive manner. I remember when he played in the GSL Korea vs World tournament where his talent really shined through. It is obvious that his level of skill has been lackluster of late and that he possibly won't be able to compete against the very best of the best, but that does not mean that he should completely quit the scene.

Gogo Dimaga!

I think he said on some talkshow that he was looking to get a personal sponsorship, guess that is not going too well...

interesting, but not surprised due to him 4-0 in his group and 2-0d MVP. And to someone else saying he isnt the best ukrainian, its just my opinion.

It probably comes down to what he's expecting from a team. Getting a team is most likely not that hard. Getting a good team with a reasonable salary and other conditions is probably a bit harder.

Navi returning was because they merged with FXO.Europe, (making FXO sponsor while navi has the team).
Obviously then Dimaga isn't going to be in the lineup, intitially at least.

He said on his stream about a week ago (roughly): he has a manager of sorts that is looking for a deal with a team, but it's not easy and taking a lot of time. Currently they are in negotiation with a team though (not disclosed), making progress. He does get offers. He didn't explain why it would take long.
