It's pretty freaky to think about. Who knows what he will end up doing but esports is too ephemeral a living to make for the vast majority of people. And then imagine having lost it all just because you refused to change your "personality". Was it really worth losing all that just to keep on calling people idiots and fuckers, IdrA? Such a waste of opportunity.
I hope for his sake that he's able to let go of that desperate clasp on his negativity at some point, and learns some humility. Otherwise he won't get far no matter which way he chooses.

This has sort of been at the tip of everyone's tongues lately, feels so strange now that it's actually happened. Hope things won't be to rough for Greg or the guys over at EG.

I did not care about his results or his behaviour, he simply made the game entertaining for me ever since I first saw him playing in the HDH Beta Tournament vs WhiteRa. This is really sad for me to read it because of that and I wish him good luck in whatever he chooses to do after this development.
Damn Idra brainwashed his fans so much if the only thing that will make you smile is thinking about him... God damnit.

This community is a shitfest and his criticism of it is completely valid. Of course money is more important to EG, that shouldn't surprise anyone.

Not surprised , kind of expected just didnt think this fast

It shows they care more about preserving image then some extra money idra might bring in through advertisements. What line did he cross? He has been doing this for years and its exactly why people love/hate him. Not every player should be all respectful and gentleman like. That makes the game boring, I like watching people play starcraft but I also like seeing personality in the players that play starcraft. If you are going to have a variety of personality then you are obviously going to get some villian types like idra. How boring would a batman movie be without a villian?
Crossed the line when he called his own fans "fuckers" and that he gets paid to treat them like crap. How is that not going to far? Before, it was just BM against other players, but to admit hatred of his fans?

Whenever I watched Idra's stream, I watched so I could laugh at his reaction when he loses(which is much of the time). I think I can root for EG just a little bit more now since they have the balls to do something like this! =D This statement right here is the reason he said he was being BM to begin with. People do not watch for skill, they watch for entertainment. You, just watching for the BM actually contributed to the BM by pouring more gasoline on the fire. But you need results if you are going to do the BM personality. It's fine to create drama and have good results at tournaments. But when you are basically not top 16 NA anymore, and have continued hatred for the game, your business strategy will go downhill. In then end, you still need to have good showings and tournament placements. Stephano calling BK out for crappy play is justified because he's Stephano. He can back it up since he still top 2/3 zerg in EU. Besides Stephano is not fake, likes to create drama, he is honest but he has to make sure to not step over the line This is some pretty perverse logic, being a jerk is never ok. It's also like saying "analysts can't call out players because they suck." Of course they can, they know the game as well as anyone (or at least should).

inb4 liquid.idra? more like mcdonalds.idra

This is real extreme for sure, and maybe too much of a response for what it was... but I think its about time for a serious attitude check for IdrA :/ Regardless, I hope this isn't the end for him.

WHOAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
The LAST thing I expected to have happen!!!

I saw this and said outloud "No way."
Pretty unbelievable. I'm stoked though. Deserved it big time. Tooooo arrogant.

Nothing of value was lost

So I'm basically done with SC2, I didn't really watch anyone else than IdrA, and major tournaments. Especially if he played on them. I wish he would've gotten back to the level he was on 2010 or so (he still can ofc..) good old days...

Good riddance. Awful player and awful attitude. Whines about Zerg being weak, Zerg becomes op at the end of wol. yet idra remained irrelevant but now no excuses. This is fantastic news, ill email the sponsors and tell them how awesome eg is

Idra, like Simon Cowell, or Gordon Ramsay, says it like it is. His rant was 100% true. For EG to do this is ridiculous.
This isn't grade-school. The teams shouldn't police morals. Let Idra do what he does. If the fans don't like it then they will react. EG is over stepping their role... again.
I'm very disappointed. I hope some more mature team picks up Greg and supports him. This smells of knee-jerk.

I know they have tried everything to keep him, including hiring a sports psychologist and letting him sort-of work his angers out. He has had several rage quits in the professional eye and they were more than patient. Don't get me wrong, I am a HUGE IdrA fan. I wish he could manage his anger in the public eye, but as someone who has felt what he does/has, I get it. However, he needs to get his anger under control or he could be another Destiny. Destiny and Idra are nothing alike.
Idra is just a guy who rages and bm`s a lot. People for some reason think Destiny`s a racist.
Destiny=/=Idra.
I like both of them, but just saying.

IdrA is a quitter with a terrible attitude. Anyone who has played competitive sports at a high level knew a guy like him on the team. Someone who was very talented, but had a shit attitude.
Good for EG not putting up with his abuse towards the community.
Good riddance IdrA.
