What is really getting at me is the timing of releasing this statement. You got Incontrol tearing up live on SOTG, Demuslim happily streaming (he had to go offline), and HuK has his WCS matches. Why the hell would Alex make the announcement right now? Stirring up the teams emotions during an important time. It wouldn't surprise me if Chris is flustered, it w/out a doubt would impact his play. IMO, they should've waited until later tonight to break the news.
To paraphrase a popular saying, "It's all fun and games until the monkey starts flinging poo at the spectators"
I mean, fling poo at opponents? LOL fling poo at opponent's mom? LOL fling poo at game? LOL fling poo at tournament organisers? LOL fling poo at fans? -.-; fling poo at fans with management support? NO U
Never go full retard.

Idra will prolly smile and think: "Only bad news are good news."
So much attention for a player who did not show any decent results for a long time. His self marketing is just incredible... I'd like to see him beating 14k achieved by Stephano. That's the most I've seen. IdrA had 20k+ once or twice Fair enough. Could someone link or paste IdrA's statement? I have trouble finding it. ![[image loading]](http://i.imgur.com/FgezXgU.jpg) Oh, I've seen that. I meant about the kick? Has he released one? His statement must look like: #$@% ^%^@$ %@$^!43@$ %$#$*%#$% David Kim #$%@#% #^%$&$ %$$#% Protoss $#%@#% !@#%#$%

That is kind of the only thing I feel EG could've done better. It was a terrible timing, I feel most notably for HuK, since though they weren't BFF, I doubt I am the only one that plays like shit when he's not focused. I mean HuK was already the underdog in his group, or atleast not the favourite, so he really didn't need the distraction.

I don't know why you guys keep speculating which team he will join.
He has made a massive bank during the past couple of years, getting easily 8k a month, never having to pay for rent or food and probably not owning a car, so he will just retire and enjoy a wealthy, laid back student's life at a university of his choosing.
I dislike the dude, but there's no way to "gloat" about this news, since he'll be living the good life from now on.

I stand in my opinion, mainly because what he said is true. Harsh and a bit rude. But true.
And what amazes me more is that, like you said, he had wished cancer to people, rage about developers, and a very long etcetera, but they fired him for that post, which is just an ironic reply to a random forum user.
There is something more there than we can see.

AFAIK none of them made it legit (I can`t remember Jinro anymore), the others got seeded into Code A I think.

I don't like this at all.
This single comment doesn't bring anything new, he didn't lose a fain or gain a hater that he wouldn't have lost or gained otherwise. He is simply being who he has always been.
Firing him because of this single incident is dumb because it's nothing new, firing him because of all the incidents is dumb because IdrA is IdrA and they knew that when they signed him. He'd publicly been IdrA for years before EG signed him. If they didn't want him to do these kinds of things then why didn't they put it in his contract that he wasn't allowed to hurt the image of EG? Alexander Garfield saw a good deal and he jumped at it and now for some reason he wants to get out of it.
It's ironic how IdrA is getting sacked for telling the truth that is: he's getting paid for telling the truth. Alexander Garfield is acting all like "I had nothing to do with this" but what IdrA says is completely true: one of the big reasons EG hired him in the first place was because of his personality and Alexander Garfield knew about his behavior all along. He wanted his cake and he wanted to eat it too, he wanted IdrA's personality but he didn't want to take any of the fallout.
IdrA gave his best years to EG and now EG tries to squeeze the last drop out of him by the attention surrounding his firing. They didn't just let his contract expire, they made a big deal out of how he's getting fired for some vague and dumb reason. InControl said that EG also takes some care of their players after they let them go and I like that but I don't like this firing at all.

I dislike the dude, but there's no way to "gloat" about this news, since he'll be living the good life from now on. In fact, here's another plot twist: Idra himself wanted to do this (retirement -> uni) and EG milked the opportunity to present the best online drama play ever, starring Incontrol on SotG. If that conspiracy were true, Geoff truly deserves his Oscar now, because I almost cried with him... but I doubt it.

I think you are mis-informed, to believe he was released entirely on one post is wrong. It was his never changing attitude towards the people that keep him(EG) in business

It's easy to be gracious and magnanimous when things are going your way. the real test of character is how you respond to adversity.

I love to see Idra playing SC2... he is a good player. His is not mannered at all... and most of the time, this is very funny. I like to think that i am a FAN... but, Fans need to be respected and considered as a part of the programer job.
I understand the EG's reaction and Idra deserved it.
That's a sad day, good luck Idra! See you soon on your stream, let's go for more adventures...

Why do you people assume that he has been fired because of lack of results? And why do you think him saying that this entire community-aka the moneymakers- is shit, wouldn't matter to the team that basically lives off marketing and pr?
He has been given COUNTLESS oppourtunities to change his behaviour, EG just couldn't handle the disappointment anymore.
