What happened was that IdrA responded to a post on Team Liquid that was saying that he was a nice guy and IdrA said "nope, you're all a bunch of fucks, it just so happens that I get paid to treat you like it. It's fucking awesome." Note this was a fan defending IdrA that he said this to. http://i.imgur.com/FgezXgU.jpg I don't know if I'd call someone saying that he is "pained and crying inside" as someone defending him.. maybe we have different definitions of defence. Edit : thinly veiled insult (I knew it was something, don't know why I linked the wikipedia without reading it, however don't discredit what I said just because I'm stupid ![]() Popular people get the viewers, sometimes the popular people are the ones with results but other times they're not. I remember seeing leenock/hyun streaming with 500-1k viewers for a long time (leenock's stream is usually titled "untitled stream"). Whereas people like Idra himself, who hasn't had a tournament win for some time but is popular in the community (infamous even) got at some points 10x the amount of viewers the Code S koreans got. As for the forgetting about big tournament wins, there's people who have already forgotten that Roro won a Code S. In twitch chat during his code S matches (it's twitch so take with a grain of salt) there's people asking who Roro is and whether he's a patchzerg actually capable of making it in GSL. Innovation is easily the best terran in the world right now (I'd argue best player period. but that's another thing) and I bet if he streamed right now he'd maybe muster 1k viewers. in comparison if Flash or Jaedong streamed, easily 10k. You don't have to be good to make money in starcraft is what Idra was saying, you just have to be popular. You can't deny that it is true, there may be a few extraneous cases (eg byunprime recently) but for the most point that stays true. I think if there was an underlying reason that he was removed it was this, He doesn't have the safety of being revered(Jaedong) or being considered one of the best foreigners (Stephano) and he had no recent results of note. He hinted at EG being a careless moneymaking business and it's pretty clear that EG didn't want to be painted in that light so since they had no reason to keep him on (Demuslim often pulls more stream viewers than him now) they let him go. Seemed like a very rushed decision, as if they wanted to get rid of him but didn't have a legitimate reason to until now, the fact incontrol didn't even know that there was a possibility of idra being fired before SotG (People citing his possible removal as an ongoing issue "straw breaking the camels back") shows that there wasn't some kind of warning system in place, or at least one that the team captain was aware of. Just seems opportunistic. I'm not happy to see Idra leave EG, I, like many others associate EG with him but in the end it's likely the best thing for him, as said before by him he only plays sc2 because he's good at it, not because he loves it and thats never a good mindset to have. Hopefully being removed from EG lets him re-evaluate why he plays starcraft and he can either find fun in it again and join a new team/ be his own player like polt/grubby/pre-teamazubu-violet, or quit and maybe re-pick up his studies. Either way good luck to him, and it's really sad to see people kicking him while he's down citing reasons of "they've always hated him" "glad he's gone" and what not. If they always hated him there should've been a thread raging at him like there has been for WCS, not an after the fact hindsight biased assault.

"I'm sure he's nice, but I bet he cries himself to sleep each night". Idra isn't a stupid guy, he can read, he and everyone else with this skill is able to tell that it was not a defence, that was an attack on Idra personally. Um You must have read wrong if you came to that conclusion?

Er, Jaedong does stream, and he maybe gets about the same amount of viewers as Incontrol so... few thousand... Even IdrA mentioned he was slightly embarrassed that his stream got 2-3 times more. But I am mixed on this whole thing. IdrA was a character, and you need a bad guy, but he just seemed a little too unstable. Hopefully this snaps some sense into him and he grows up a bit.
