Sure his skill alone won't net him the big bucks but he's still one of the best players in NA and if you add his fairly big following there's plenty of incentive for a team to pick him up. At the end of the day what happens next will be entirely up to Idra, what he wants to do. Does he say screw this and go back to school, does he buckle down and strive to regain his former glory, does he chase a personal sponsorship so he can sit and stream all day or whatever. Who the fuck knows. People act like he's just killed a kitten or something. No, he is not.

Suits try and sterilise all this and mold people into 'personalities' and 'forge brand identities' - which in idra's case backfired when he was too vitriolic for even his 'bad boy' box. Seeing Incontrol that choked up about his best friend being gkicked while still having to toe the party line is fucking sad man. 'trying to work on saying it a little less candidly'. I know I'll catch flak with people saying 'its a business yadda yadda yadda' but I think money poisons everything and I for one find it very sad indeed watching a man having to choose between saying what he thinks and doing what he's told. He got kicked because his 'opinion' basically boils down to hating SC2, believing winning doesn't matter and that he gets paid to treat people like shit. It has nothing to do with being 'too controversial' or 'opinionated.' He had became the e-sports equivalent of the bitter-old-man-at-the-office that hates himself and his job, and complains so much that he drags everyone else down with him. He could be the nicest guy ever outside of the office, but it sounds like he made everyone else's job on the team a lot harder.

You're really mad at the situation and just trying target someone/some entity to vent your rage? There is absolutely zero evidence to support your wild statement. And even more importantly, everyone knows that Idra has always been like this, since way before EG. LoL comeon man. Why do you keep attacking people voicing how they feel about the situation? Just because you're happy he lost his job and his home doesn't mean everyone else is. Can you ease off the throttle a bit and let people voice their opinions without shooting them down every second post? Autotroph was right it was really confronting watching incontrol's reaction when he found out about idra. If that skype call was this thread you are slasher and everyone you're attacking is incontrol. People are in shock about what happened and you're being completely insensitive to a big event in esports and wondering about "what team he'll join next" (in this case attacking everyone by calling them "slightly off" and "really mad"). As for the comment that EG molding idra into idra, its true idra was already a pretty bm dude, but when you're being reinforced with money thrown in your face you'll tend to keep doing what you're doing since it appears to be working. I still don't think the entire reason for his removal was attitude related (what he said was pretty typical idra) and definitely has some financial/results underpinning but that's irrelevant and in the end it's still a shocking day for sc2. Idra isn't what he used to be, but he's not bad either. He's still been in GM for multiple seasons (aka top 200) and whilst NA might not be the most competitive ladder, he is still one of the top 200 people on it and when its filled with people foreign from the region (there's many australians in it for example) he's still there. So to not call him a top US player or bad is pretty ridiculous.

right now he's so far behind the top foreigners..... and knowing greg's personality there's just no way he starts over again and fights his way back to the top.... In his eyes he deserves to be the best just because he's dedicated so much time to the game. But then again, I'd be pleasantly surprised if he did.....

if that D*** would have said that Idra hasnt brought in enough money and tourney wins to let him keep staying, that would have made this sh at least the tiniest bit believable; this way its just another PR clusterf*** but i honestly thought they wold kick HUK from the team (years ago actually)... lets see when he "goes" User was temp banned for this post.

Naa man im not saying idra wasn't like that to begin with, im saying the all the corporate involvement, whilst bringing bigger tournaments etc etc has a bad side - which in my opinion is the compartmentalising of people, teams and scenes. I agree idra has always been quick get angry and say exactly what he thinks in a way that ranges from blunt to insulting - and I think its sad that because of Monster energy drink and Doritos people can't be who they are. Nobody tried to change Idra, they formed an outward identity for him, the 'bad-boy' rage quiter and all that. Its ironic that while normally people get punished for something that doesn't fit the mold (Miley Cyrus sex tape or whatever), in Idras case he got dropped for being a concentrated version of his mold, which doesn't fly in the sterile and brittle world of corporate endorsements.

No one here is shooting down posts that express sympathy, sadness and best wishes for Idra. However, people attacking EG and justifying Idra calling everyone "fucks", are going to get shot down and commented on. Also, I'm not "happy" Idra was fired. I think it's the correct decision given the circumstances. I'm not dancing on Idra's grave, either. I am poking fun at the fanatics making irrational posts in this thread. Interesting that none of these people are able to counter any of the criticism of their nonsensical statements, isn't it?

Do you even know Idra? we all know how stubborn he is, and you think he won't get atleast a little "fuck you I'll show you fucks" attitude out of this? I'd be unpleasently suprised if he didn't
