I think that idra being fired was a combination of his antics as well as his recent results. Had he been getting the results while still being a dick, i think EG would have kept him on. However this was not the case, honestly I feel this is a good thing, as of late I felt idra had lost his passion, and hence his results suffered. The average skill level of players is increasing and idra has been stagnating if not falling behind. No point for EG to beat a dead horse, this in the long run is good for both players EG can get ride of some dead weight and idra is free of his commitments and can move on with his life.

And this is why they had to let him go. EG beeing associated with IdrA was way too detrimental. Look at the bigger picture EG nowdays have Dota and LoL teams who ALWAYS make more viewers than Grack could ever do/had. I am surprised that none of the IdrA "fans" has posted the reason why they were watching him. It is not his ability to play (that was good sometimes), it is not his interaction with fan (sometimes was good aswel), it is that IdrA with his attitude made everyone feeel good by feeding off his misery/unsuccess/rage something I don`t enjoy doing but I guess that is how some people look at E-sports. Do I support EG decision ? YES I DO! Do I think that Alexander Garfield made the call on IdrA? No, he is fairly young - must have been from Scoots directly. I would add that what happened on TL posting and the ackward rage quiting @ NA WCS , followed by almost everyone laughing/mocking IdrA/EG as bad was the drop that spilled the cup.

Some of these posts are just hilariously strange.
The irony is this post right here is more offensive to the community than the post idra got released for :\ calling people "slightly off" for speaking their mind about a key icon in starcraft being removed from the team they helped make iconic for the same reason that icon was made an icon.
The reason I'm calling them "slightly off" isn't because they are simply speaking their mind. Their logic and reasoning for justifying Idra's behavior and attacking EG is so completely whacked that it's impossible to think of them as "normal" posters.
Every time some random poster says "dur it's true Idra was right! All of you are fucks! durrr" it's hard not to start stereotyping. I have yet to see a rational argument for either defending Idra or attacking EG.
While I don't think anyone would actually say that what Idra said was exactly "smart", there was a bit of truth to his post. He also did not seem entirely serious about it, but I suppose we will never know that... Idra has always valued "skill" in Starcraft. Many people don't actually care for skill (the viewers) and just want to see something EXCITING. Idra losing in a match and not saying "gg" is what people like to see. People like to dislike him, something which is actually pretty natural. People love to hate -someone-. Others actually love him because of that.
Actually, this thread (and its # of pages) is pretty much proof of what Idra was saying (in his first post). People care about this kind of shit. People like uber gosu players like Innovation and Flash as well, but there's so much more money in Idra than Innovation. Flash, well, he will always have tons of fans and shit. I wonder how many viewers Innovation would get if he streamed....
This is shitty and people are laughing at idra and cheering and calling idra fans "little off" this is depressing. How can people hate someone so much and kick them when they are down.
it's gonna be so weird, not having IdrA as part of EG. ESPORTS history... I've criticized IdrA's behavior many times among friends, but there is no doubt he had a big part in the growth of foreign ESPORTS.

Since when has idra valued skill? Anytime he lost it was always to some "no skill noob cheese rush" or because whatever unit was imbalanced at the time. He never actually lost and said "well I fucked this up" or "I could've done this better." It was always the games fault. Any attack before 20 minutes was considered a cheese by him and therefore not the real game. If he valued skill he would better himself, not blame others for beating him.
This seems like it spurred it, as far as I can tell without more info from Alex.
That was just so retarded by him, good move by EG in my opinion.
Well to be honest he had a good point with his first post and the reply to him was just teasing him. Of course he went to far with his second post but really theres probably something more behind the scenes.
The first post implied that EG cared more about streaming and 'pandering' to the community, and the community is more interested in trolling and e-drama then competition — which is not representative of EG's beliefs. While EG cares about viewership, they care about winning, too — you don't hire coaches, set up team houses and fly people to tournaments all over the world because you don't care about competition. You know that winning and marketing are related — the longer your player stays in a tournament, the more visibility your team and sponsors get.
While IdrA was making a semi-valid point, it revealed the contempt that he personally had for the community and esports in general.
The second post was basically IdrA stating his belief that he gets paid to treat the community — EG's customers — like shit.
Can you imagine being a boss, and hearing one of your employees basically saying it doesn't matter how he treats customers, because they're getting paid a salary anyways? Or being a team owner, and hearing that one of your highest paid athletes basically believes that winning doesn't matter?
I'm sure this has been a long time coming, but I can definitely see why these two posts pushed EG. Alex over the edge.
EG is maybe transforming into a korean like team, with all the koreans they hired already. So no real controversial figures anymore, just plain behaviour without edges.
90% of these comments are totally worthless wastes of a post:
wow. holy shit. wait what? wow. deserved, but wow. cant believe it.
reading 4 pages of posts and its all just one sentence garbage, how about some context and information and links people, sure ill go watch SoTG later to catch up but you people are just worthless with such comments, a community of degenerates.... where are the posts on analysis and review and reflections???

Thats not what he is saying. He never claimed you cannot be an IdrA fan or supporter with a clear mind, but lots of IdrA fans seem to post in a very aggressive tone and in rage-mode. While not the majority might be like that, often times we get ourselves in that picture, because the rage-nerds are the loudest speaking.
Not to mention the post count of a lot of these Idra followers is extremely low. Just another thing I've noticed.
Don't put too much thought into it. You'll only fall into a hole and find yourself surrounded by a bunch of trolls, realizing that's what those posts are.
Man I dont think most of those posts are trolls. I think these people really believe what they're saying on here. That's the hilarious part of it, too. I literally can't stay away from this thread, as I don't want to miss the next insane/crazy complaint.
So what are you gaining by calling his fans slightly off? While forming this opinion on low post count forum trolls. When I said the majority of his die hard fans are wishing him the best of luck in his fan club thread. This thread isn't nearly aggressively moderated as his fan-club. If you want the views of his real fans that you consider slightly off, I suggest venturing there, before being trolled and forming a foolish opinion.
What have I gained? I'm enjoying discussing the topics and poking fun at insane/irrational posts. I'm sorry if I offended other die-hard fans that realize that firing Idra was the correct decision but are also by chance a fan of his play and are sad to see him leave EG. But I'm definitely not sorry to say that almost all of the "die-hard" fans of Idra that post in this thread are making outlandish, irrational, illogical statements that are lol-worthy. And if you're saying that these guys are only trolls - that you know this to be true - then I say you're misjudging the situation. Most of these guys are real fans, it' seems pretty obvious. You can almost feel the emotion and rage emanating from every word they post.
Oh and yes, I've checked out Idra's fan club many times. Lots of crazies in there man . . . I'd put on a bio-hazard suit before venturing that way . . . yes, yes I would avoid that thread. Lol.

EGPolt lol
Well if they get EG.Polt I will finally start rooting for them!
