You guys so mad, all we know that Korean players are the best ones. So, for what you whine? I will be happy if Koreans take all spots in WCS finals, i dont want to see all these pseudo EU/NA "progamers" who dont wants to train like Koreans, and just wants some easy money from qualis without koreans. Shame on them.

Read this in stereotype Russian accent, was amazing. (No offense to your English, it's far better than my Russian)

The real problem with the move is that it essentially ruins two regions. NA/EU don't get their sandbox to develop in, and Koreans get their potential earnings reduced.

However, let's not ignore the massive payday that is the vast American spending power. If a move like this increases American interest in eSports, it will literally benefit the entire world (of eSports).

My english is pretty bad, sorry for that. I agree with you, NA/EU really needs to develop the scene wider, but i think that the players should make more efforts.

I don't see how WCS EU hinders the European scene in any way, I would say it's the exact opposite. Having a GSL like tournament will be a great enhancement also in it's current form. US is another issue, but it's the EU/US teams with Korean players creating problems.

Not shocked at all by this, Kespa players have been preforming so much better than esf players as of late, they make our GSL veterans look silly.

Really don't like that players like MC and Taeja who already have money, and are in CODE S, would run from the tough competition for a moneygrab. If its a sponsor-driven decision, that's one thing, but otherwise its a bit dishonorable IMO.

Probably not their choice. Their sponsors and teams likely chose where they would go. It's quite strategic, really. SK.LG-IM split up between all of the regions, Nestea in NA, MVP/MC in EU and the bulk of their A class roster in Korea.

Blaming the players doesn't make much sense at all.
A time to live.

So excited to see who the new GSL programmers would be.

There's a pretty deep pool... Just watching the code a challenger qualifiers reminded me of how many known players can't even get into GSL!

e: GSL won't be diluted in any significant way AND having some top players coming in from the other leagues regions will just make the overall WCS "story" more interesting (imho).

Why Blizzard has done that? They destroyed GSL if all those guys don't play there next season :-(

And also how can this be calles World Championship if the Koreans go to every Region and take the spots. This is nonsense. Everybody should qualifie in his Region. In football Switzerland also can't go to Asia to qualifie for the World Championship because it would be easier.

I'm pretty annoyed what's going on here :-/

The sponsors and teams likely chose where they would go. On the good note, this opens up new spots in GSL for many legends to come in the future.

WCS Korea is totally fine. Even if 10-15 Code S regulars leave Korea it doesn't matter. There are a lot of great Kespa players and there is no way in hell these guys are leaving Korea.

WCS EU seems great. We already have a good amount of good players and the addition of 3-5 Koreans makes it amazing. I am really excited for this.

WCS NA. Ok,so there are only 3 regions and the guys from SEA and Latin America have to play somewhere.NA makes more sense cause of travel distance and lag. Pretty sure if there were any good players from Middle East or Africa they would get invited to EU. The amount of Koreans though could be problematic. If WCS NA has 1/3 Koreans then something is wrong.
All I do is Stim.

Kepsa players simply cannot go out because of the Kespa rules. Otherwise, many will chose foreign scene, just as there GSL colleagues. This has nothing to do with the performance.
Given a choice, players like Bisu, fantasy, Stork will probably chose foreign while many trainees will definitely do.

Koreans don't care about the north, they grew up with the constant threat of war, so it is part of their mentality to just ignore it. Impleying that they are cowards who would rather leave their families to fend for themselves instead staying and fighting, is rather insulting.

This is fantastic; all of these EU and NA players should be relishing the opportunity to compete against the likes of MC and Jaedong.

The only downside for me is no Jaedong in Code S and the GSL has lost a few good second-tier players, but the WCS finals should compensate for that.

to the people who think these players not being in the GSL will make it worse: HAVE YOU SEEN KESPA PLAYERS LATELY? they're all still competing in gsl and so many of them are better than the listed koreans here. In fact the vast majority of these players aren't even in code S now and this code s is awesome so far.

this just makes Na and EU more fun to watch. we'll get actual good games, and the quality of code s will not faulter at all with the loss of some of these big names.

I only care about seeing good games of starcraft. koreans are helping to make foreign tournaments worth watching. Besides, the small amount of koreans in EU won't dominate, they will only push EU players (who are capable of taking these players out) more to be better. American players are kinda screwed

If you want to stream and make money that way, that's fine. But should you also expect any pro to constantly stream and expect to win tournaments on top of that? Not really since you can't dedicate enough time to practice special builds and other things because all your opponent would have to do is watch the stream and learn a lot.

If NA "pros" are making good money streaming, then why is money such a huge issue? Most of these Koreans rely on prize money for most of their income, whereas it's not entirely true for foreigners.

You must have selective memory or watch different tournaments. ESF and Kespa are equal in skill. There is only 1 thing where Kespa has the upper hand and that is the money.
