If you guys watch state of the game, Artosis states several times it's useless for any pro gamer to only go to South Korea for a short time. Many top Koreans/Artosis all agree it's only worth it if you plan to stay for a min of 2 years in Korea or more if you really want to improve learn.
Artosis then again says someone can come to Korea for a short period of time and learn small things here and there but not really improve when they return home. If suppy is going just for 5 months of pro league sector, hope he can provide better results then stephano did.
Artosis and wolf also state it takes a good 2-3 months just to get used to a Pro Korean gaming house/culture. Suppy is use to having all the free time in the world and options as a young college kid, He has to learn to do nothing but starcraft 2 and no time for himself, hope he can make it, Coach park wont allow him to do anything else.

Well I am pretty sure Coach Park knows what is going on and has a much better idea on how to improve a player in a short period of time. Since Suppy won't be diving into Pro-league, I am sure Coach Park has other plans on how to teach him to become a better player. Boot-camping with the best SC2 coach in the world is never a bad idea.

The end of May is when UC Berkeley, the university that Suppy attends, concludes their spring semester. Also, five weeks is totally reasonable time, during the summer.

I call this bullshit. Unless you're from some country that with money you can attend anywhere. But here in US, especially Berkeley as one of the best school in the world, it's fucking impossible. Also no one can attend med school at age of 18 without preschool.

ok i don't know about the us system, but here in europe if you want to go to med school, you begin taking extra classes in biology and chemistry at 16, and after you pass an exam in biology and chemistry at the end of high school and you get directly in med school. education is actually 100% free if your grades are good. also many university programs are even harder to get in to than med school (though med school has some of the hardest exams once you're in).
also i'd like to add that the doctor license is regulated pretty universally around the world, in this sense it doesn't matter if you're from berkeley or from an university from ukraine. you have to study the same books. where as there could be a huge difference in for example economy education between 2 institutions..

A typical track in the US is to go pre-med, take MCATs and apply to med school. I don't think pre-med is required, but you do need a 4-year degree of some sort.
As SpecialistSC mentioned, most programs do look at volunteer/clinical work so the fact that Suppy is playing SC2 in Korea is kind of nerdballer. I don't think the situation is that dire though, as he's still a sophomore(?)

yes it's a typical track. but you can get in directly after high school. it's actually much more typical in europe to get in directly than to attend pre-med 1st (we do have pre-med here too). it's in the culture here to prepare for admission tests/exams in the last 2 year of high school so everybody who takes it seriously gets accepted usually, because 2 year is enough for almost anything.
also the school itself is 6 year here but residency is shorter, and you have to take the same exams throughout. bottom line, you need to produce results at exams/tests, and nobody cares what you do in the summer.
