- Did it live up to your expectations?
- What are you expecting more out of Battle.net
- What are the finer, smaller points of quality that you really appreciated?
- What are some jarring issues you had with the game, the campaign or multiplayer?
- What are you expecting out of Legacy of the Void?
1) I think it did to be honest, I found the campaign to be a lot of fun and the story in general, very good. There are few things which disappointed me but these are more the Lore side of things+ Show Spoiler +
(Zerus is now a jungle planet? Zerg are not parasitic creatures, lack of consistency in some areas)
2) Enhanced multiplayer - already I play more 1v1 because of unranked + feel the whole multiplayer UI is much more inviting. This leads to more games being played and my ladder anxiety being (nearly) removed. I am also expecting groups/clans to really take off, would be amazing if we can have a diverse clan base similar to wc3 where people can share thoughts and strategies, also clan matches! Even if they are not strictly supported by blizzard and have to be done through custom game option.
3)+ Show Spoiler +
I really appreciated the evolution missions and also the levels where the mission is focused hero's not armies (space battle level, alien level, etc)
4) Only major problem I have with the single player is this; how fricking easy is the campaign? I mean seriously, I suck at sc2, Gold on 1v1 multiplayer, struggle to complete WoL on hard, blazed through HoTs on hard!! Even on brutal I feel like a sc2 god because, yes, its taxing on the multi-tasking but easy in terms of basically, 1a move Kerrigan + army through whatever and she destroys everything!! Sometimes on hard I didn’t bother with an army, just used Kerrigan; she is op. Even on the boss battles on Zerus on brutal, its micro intensive but she just smashes them!!
There are some smaller problems I have with the multiplayer but these are irrelevant as I am pretty nooby, one thing I don’t like about the new multi-player is vs. AI match making, why does the AI not use the builds which are available to it in custom? To me it feels like the same old same old WoL, AI just sits in base and masses an army, I wanted crazy rushes from AI 2v2 or timing attacks, anything but a turtling AI.
5) Unsure of this. Single player I expect the campaign to be similar to HoTs where there are more hero based missions + hopefully a decent conclusion to the story... Multiplayer I can’t really comment on as I am not good enough to give a balanced opinion of the current metagame and how blizzard/the community can improve it.
TL:DR
HoTs rocks. But its single player campaign is too easy. Multiplayer is good for casual gamers like me, new UI is much more inviting and has removed my ladder anxiety. I hope LoTv concludes the epic SC story which has had me gripped for the past 10+ years.
