Headset, mouse, and keyboard all given a fair shot, and all either break, malfunction catastrophically (so, spectacularly break), or are just garbage in every way. Had a 6gv2 since they came out, and have had 0 issues. IMO buy a decent mechanical and get some Sennheisers. No need for bad shiny loot. This is funny stuff. You know the Steelseries keyboard and Razer keyboard are probably made in the same 1-2 factories? Same goes for their mice, headsets, mouse mats, and every other brand of of peripheral makers stuff. They all use the same quality plastics. What people perceive as quality is purely that, perception. The quality is all equal. A blackwidow is just as nice of a mechanical keyboard as the 6gv2, if you want blues go razer, if you want blacks go SS. Get the mouse that fits your hand the best. Never buy any gaming headset, go Sennheisers or audio-technica! Sorry about the mini rant, just annoying to see people throw quality around when its all the same. This is a pretty expected move, and a good one for both parties.

Great quality stuff. On February 05 2013 02:19 Sikly wrote: This is funny stuff. You know the Steelseries keyboard and Razer keyboard are probably made in the same 1-2 factories? I am kinda impartial about Razer, I like their mousepads (I have the TL one and it is nice to use) but I use a Filco and a Logitech G1 and have no intention of switching because they are perfect for me.

This is a pretty expected move, and a good one for both parties. I don't really side with 1 company more than another, but my razer banshee's mic stopped working after less than 3 months (which is a very common problem for that product). I've got through 3 razer naga mice, each lasting 12 months, 10 months and 4 months. My razer widow ultimate's shift key jams everynow and then (not convenient during a game). I don't abuse my things, but if I've concluded anything from this, Razer has bad quality control. There's no reason to have this many problems with literally every product I buy (again, 5 items). Since then I've bought a sensei and Siberia v2, no problems so far.

I think if you asked most guys who were following the Steel Series situation would have called it without a second thought. I would have been more shocked if they signed on with someone else. Now that would be surprising.

I also find this Razer monopoly a bit boring. I'd love to see Logitech get into sponsoring teams. I hear the G710+ is amazing. Logitech are actually getting out of gaming soon and refocusing their efforts elsewhere

Wait you're thinking sponsorships are about friendship ? Are you even real ? Of course EG players are going to talk well about SS products, because it's the sole reason SS is sponsoring in the first place : publicity. It has absolutely nothing to do with friendship =_=

Steelseries has a history of supporting local LAN tournaments of different games. They supported many teams at one point just like Razer. They may not sponsor a lot of teams like they did, but they are just as important. I find their products more reliable than Razer's. At least they do not need to have fancy and flashy gizmos to sell while sacrificing quality.
