Here is an article on Millenium's website which explain that Dragon leave the team. The main reason is that he wants to focus on HotS and he can't stay in Europe because of Visa problems.

Oh wow, didn't see that coming. Guess if he can't stay in Europe anymore because of VISA probelms it was going to happen regardless.

Wonder if he will stay teamless in HOTS...

I hope he enjoid his summer trip in Marseille, but let's be honest...
In France, we have an expression for what Dragon is doing which is a "fuite en avant" (litteraly, a forward retreat).
In other words, somebody ignoring present difficulties to focus on an illusory future (HotS)...

No, Lewellys (Manager of Millenium) knew that Dragon Focused only on HotS. Dragon can come in Europe now, but there are no tournament for HotS yet. So He would have stayed 3 months for nothing ... Then go back to Korea when HotS is release.

Lewellys asked patience to Dragon because he didn't wanted Dragon to come for nothing ...

So many famous and loved people in this community have cheated at one time or another. Dragon got grilled appropriately and paid the consequences (a long time ago when he cheated), and people have since moved on. That being said, we shouldn't condone cheating of any sort. But we don't always need to bring it up in irrelevant threads

Anyways, I hope Dragon finds another team! I'm a fan of his personality ^^

Meh.. Dragon really didn't do a whole lot for Millennium results-wise (aside from bringing them some added popularity through his stream), he was virtually invisible in terms of tournament results and team presence. I don't really understand his place on Millennium in the first place. "Focusing on Hots" just seems like an excuse he's thrown out there for not doing much.

Sometimes you get that sort of "awkward" "contrived" type feeling when a player joins a team that doesn't really seem like a fit for them team-wise and location-wise.. I definitely got that sort of awkward feeling when Dragon joined M. Not only that, but I think he's already passed his prime. And what the fuck is the point of practicing hots mainly if you're on a good-tier professional team that can send you to foreign tournaments right now? That doesn't even make sense. I don't get this guy.

Agree ... He hasn't done anything good for Millennium expect streaming his game. No offense here, but he was a bad decision by Millennium

well not really. The one tournament he went to under the M tag was Dreamhack (forget which one) and he did pretty good. Not sure why these terrible haters, who don't even play starcraft, have such negative things to say about players.

That actually doesn't mean shit in this community though. You could literally be the champion of any major tournament while cheating and people would eventually forgive you. Why we don't simply banish dragon/tt1 and all the other cheaters/hackers is beyond me. But dragon will continue to be around, he could even continue to cheat, wouldn't matter much.

On topic, not a shocker Millenium is a team off actual players, dragon is just a streamer who used to play somewhat well.

I agree, it's also going to be hard for him to find a new team when he has a reputation as a troll who plays in gold league ladder games.
Let alone the fact he is a confirmed cheater

I'm not sure Dragon makes for a good member in any typical team. Like Destiny he seems to be more of an entertainer, and judging from the way he practices, I doubt he'll be winning tournaments anytime soon.

I guess some smaller teams could get a little exposition through him, but that's about it.

We're too esports to care about people who can't bring tournament/league results. Even if you can make the game more entertaining than a PvP GSL finals or make the game about fun rather than results.

Yeah, we're just too esports for that. I mean, we're playing Starcraft 2, not a game right? A game right?

It's not so much that, so much as everyone is allowed to have diverse opinions.

There's no BM, just people saying it will be hard for Dragon to find a new team.

This makes absolutely no sense.

Dragon has been nothing more than a very good player in ladder. He didn't have any substantial accomplishments and for all we know he didn't exactly fulfilled his role to provide Stephano with a good ZvT practise partner back in the day. And as we all know, EG is not exactly a team that takes any chances on unproven players.

I think he's either joining another european team or just switch to LoL.

But do you think they will recruit Dragon, who posts no results and has a medium-sized fan base?
Oh yes, probably.
;D

The fanbase of IN\ncontrol is alot bigger then the fanbase of Dragon. And Incontrol does alot more for EG then only playing/streaming.

I dont know how you view fanbases but when Incontrol streams he usually gets what, 2400ish? thats about what Dragon gets. But Incontrol is also outsourced to cast tournaments which in theory ups his -- and EGs -- exposure. Dragon is a non-racist, non-homophobic Korean Destiny, tooling around on ladder. When he runs into a legit player he gets manhandled, I think Idra crushed him 4-0 or 5-0 the other day on Hots beta.

Well, the day before Dragon went like 6-2 vs Idra.

I don't understand the problem with Dragon among certain fans, aside from the "cheating" scandal. In Korea, it seems quite common for top players to brand others as "hackers" or whatever you want to call it.

I dont have a problem with him, I like watching his stream sometimes but it gets too repetitive to watch him crush people 2-3 categories below him. But who knows, maybe when HOTS goes live he will be really awesome for a year, the way the white guys were back in 2010/mid 11 before the Koreans got serious about the game.

KleeneX was SO bad in WC3. His record was something like 1-30 in league matches. I never could understand why M continued to support him.

Dragon has to be remembered as the guy who gave Millenium the opportunity to recruit ForGG. Result-wise, no one ever expected him to do very well, but even Millenium said it was a first door open towards recruiting more koreans. And ForGG is doing pretty well on Millenium currently.

I watch him all the time, he rarely trolls the lower leagues. I can see the argument that it's BM to do that, but on the other hand it is very entertaining.

The same reason they dont just pick up anyone who asks. You want good players to represent you free or not free.

KleeneX represents Millenium on the french scene. You wouldn't know about that - obviously - but he had decent results on a national level which meets the criteria set for him by his manager. Not everybody can be Stephano, and though I agree that we should weed out mediocre players to make room for better, more enthusiast players, I'm not sure it is useful to get rid of a player loved by your community (Millenium's) who plays for free on a national scene and helps for casting when needed (he is paid to cast or stream though)

As for Dragon, I'm sad to see him leave but one has to question the way he handles his career. Though Millenium hadn't foreseen the huge visa issues they now run into with ForGG (and before him Dragon) which severely hinder both of their impact on the international scene, Dragon hasn't trained for a WoL tournament for 2 months, that's not really a serious attitude to have. Millenium's intent when recruiting Dragon was to have him play on the EU scene as a legit player, not as an entertainer. And he failed to uphold the status he wished to achieve.

Odd, I remember someone mentioning that he had left Millenium in a stream chat a couple days ago. Guess it was true then. Wonder if he's going to be able to get on anther team with his history.

he is not a confirmed cheater, you should of been temp banned for that post, hes a ex slayers member who played in plenty of high lvl tourneys, srsr i'm sick of people puting out false info and shaming good players for nothing, most these comments come from random kids. He made 1 mistake LONG TIME AGO, And everyone else has moved on, along with him.

Only reason he has not done anything on mili cuz Hots beta came out, then the announcement of HOTS release date....so he wants to focus 100% on hots like EG Idra and other big names, only reason why other pros have not is because they have current tourneys to finish (gsl/proleague ect)

So many trolls in this thread. Best of luck to Dragon, he is a good player and expect him in GSL when hots comes out

Ya I dont think people should hate Dragon. He is entertaining and definitely has a personality for streaming. Its just that unless he magically becomes much better at HOTS than he is currently on his stream he isnt a pro-pro/ just an entertainment pro. So maybe he can join the bros on Root or something because his level of macro seems to have fallen off -- always see him doing supply drops or idle SCVs or build up a ton of cash. But I guess it could be just crappy maps and hiim needing to stream to get that money, hence games that are funny rather than just macroed like a best.

I wish him well but I am fairly confident he would have a hard time getting into Code A.

Not with HOTS, it will be a new ball park, and many top tier players will be stuck in WOL mindeset, while dragon and others who are focusing on 100% hots beta will be better prepare with builds.

Hots is like a 100% brand new game, in which it will take the players who are not active in beta a long time to trans

idk about that. GSL is switching to it for the first season after release. I'm guessing we will see a lot of people qualify that we necessarily wouldn't have otherwise like when WoL was released and dragon qualified for the first or 2nd season of GSL.

macro is macro man. idle drones, supply blocks, that stuff isnt because of hots. thats stuff is because he hasnt lived in a korean training environment for half a year.

You're either a blind fanboy, or have no idea what you're talking about and too lazy to look up what happened.

Dragon is a cheater, scammer, and a liar.

For those that do not know or remember what happened with him in the past, I'll summarize:

Back in 2010, Dragon, when he was known as MioWerra, introduced a "friend" known as 서연지 to play in online tournament 기사도의 연승전 on Gisado's show. He used his main account to stream snipe multiple opponents, including theSTC, while playing on the alt account, 서연지.

TheSTC, along with several others, accused Dragon of map hacking. He denied everything, and TheSTC but eventually confessed and apologized when the evidence was found.

Dragon posted a formal apology, claiming that he will never appear in any Lan tournament or pursue a career in pro gaming.

Despite all that, he applied and qualified for code A spot of GSL Open season 3.

So no, he's a confirmed cheater. He did not just made 1 mistake LONG time ago. The fact that he's still around, streaming, and joining pro gaming team is ridiculous.

And those who are interested, and literate in read korean, can read what happened.

Apology by Cella, who was in WeRRA at the time

Please stop bashing him, he made a mistake, but a lot of other players too (TT1, Dimaga in BW for example, Coca/Byun in WoL) and they haven't been destroyed like you want him to be. Nobody is perfect, as someone said, and i thnik that 2 years after the facts, he should be forgiven.
BTW, he said after that incident tht he would stream a lot to show people that he wasn't cheating, and still streams a ton, 2 years after that, so i think he has shown his will to stay in the community.

I do. And it is ridiculous that a confirmed cheater has such a huge fanbase and is STILL featured on TL after cheating. People like Deathangle and Veralynn lie about their league for coaching, and get banned completely and the entire community (rightfully so) hate them. Or Spades, Zach, Impa etc etc get caught cheating on LADDER they are 100% gone. But Dragon gets to stay even after cheating multiple times in TOURNAMENTS?

Dragon, you should really hire a lawyer. They obviously kicked you off the team for being gay...

DeathAngel/Veralynn was Tournaments aswell, just so you know.

This is GOMTV's statement on the matter of him getting the opportunity to qualify etc
