Which international team could possibly commit to 1 year? Especially when Kespa league isn't part of the gom-dh-MLG partnership?

This is will be very interesting. During BW days foreign tourney scene was abysmal and not really worth Kespa players' time. But now there's so much money and exposure outside of Korea I wonder how they'll work around the schedule.

Maybe that's why this season is a year long? Because they will be taking certain weeks off (doesn't MLG And Kespa have some kind of agreement?)

Your confusing GOM with IEM. IEM-DH-MLG signed a partnership, GOM had no part of it.

You're absolutely correct. eSF and ESF are two different organization XD

THAT'S TOTALLY NOT CONFUSING AT ALL.

Can you someone explain to me the point of the format they use?

I am sure I must be misunderstanding something because to me it looks like they play 5 rounds where every team plays every team, but after the final round there are playoffs based on the results of that round and a winner is declared. This doesn't make sense at all as it means the previous rounds are all irrelevant.

Can someone explain to me the significance of the previous rounds please?

What's ESF? I think you mean ESL, and yeah they're totally different.

Actually I think he confused ESL and ESF, (god damnit I wish I was joking). But yeah, ESL which is functionally IEM.

Oh yeah...
It's just that Sayle's stream = Proleague in my mind and I forgot that it's SC2 only now :[

I have heard this EG-Proleague rumor for a while. Does anyone know where it originated?

It seems like such a far stretch for me as most their players have previously stated they have no interest in playing in Korea. I don't see them picking up and leaving Arizona to live in Korea and jeopardize the popular foreign tournament schedule that EG players have.

EGFnaticRC seems to be an interesting thought.

I've always considdered Fnatic a korean team, isn't that so?

It seems to obviously be some combination of fnatic and eg players, representing raidcall. Remember that the main appeal for sponsors here is getting on Korean tv, and raidcall is big enough in Asia to benefit from that.

I was thinking this too. It'd be a bit strange because EG and Fnatic both have a lot going on other than SC2 where they wouldn't need to be partners, but just from the perspective of Proleague, it makes a lot of sense.

I`ve many questions that probably no one can answer, but I will ask anyway:

1. Are they going to use the same uninspired maps every major SC2 tournament always uses? Or will they allow Rose of Dream wing up great maps like in BW?

2. What is going on with Bisu? It is really enraging that he seems to be fading way because of SC2.

3. At which time is it going to happen? 14:00 KST mid week and 12:00 KST (I guess?) in sundays like usually?

4. Will nanashin stream it, even if it is only SC2 now?

5. Does SK Planet sponsorship again means they couldn`t find new sponsors?

6. What should I be feeling right now? I feel excited about Proleague being back but then frustrated because I remember it`s SC2.... but then there are Jaedong, Bisu, Flash, Fantasy... but it`s SC2 and experience tells me I shouldn`t expect too much from it...

So glad they are announcing the players before the matches again! This used to make the hype for proleague so crazy and it really bummed me out when the whole match fixing scandal had to ruin it.

Now players will be able to tailor specific builds against the race and person they are facing that day, which will add even more to the game ^^. Surprised most people aren't excited as hell about it.

Each round counts for the final results, based on those 4 teams come up, where the 4th placed team plays vs the 3rd placed team then the winner play the 2nd placed team and finally the winner of the second match plays the 1st. This placing is based on those 5 rounds summed together. It seems this season rounds 1,3,4 will be the normal proleague format (bo7 with ace match) and rounds 2,5 will be all-kill bo7. The team with most wins gets 1st place (counting all rounds) and then they use match score (wins - loses) for tiebreakers.

Standings are taken from the entire season, not just the last round. So a team can own up rounds 1, 2 and 3... bomb rounds 4, 5 and 6... and still potentially be in the playoffs even if they played badly near the end of the season.

People were talking about EG and proleague on twitch yesterday, which is before this news, so I'm guessing it's them. But they need more koreans for it, and a house over there aswell.

Incontrol talked about "big news" and that stuff. So i assume they will have a house there in a few months and Proleague participation makes lots of sense if you commit so much resources to korea.

Am I the only one thinking it will be some kind of Proleage version of F United? I dunno, if it would be EG or something I'm pretty sure they would have gone out with the name of the team already. The foreigner team still being unnamed makes me think it's just some kind of mix with players.

I still don't know if announcing the players beforehand is the right way to go.

We had to deal with this long time ago, and I highly doubt that the scene's going to be safe once the old system comes back.

Has to be a team that's willing to be in Korea for a year. Not many foreign teams willing to do that I'd guess. Should narrow down the list quickly.

Nope. EG would get stomped in ProLeague. They don't have the depth to compete. TL or coL are probably the best bets, based on past participation in the GSTL.

EDIT: Maybe EG (based on all the allusions to "big news"), TL or coL. I still fear that EG would get stomped horribly, though. They just don't have much depth to their roster to compete with Proleague teams.
