You can easily tell that MMA has been going downhill ever since the incident blew up ( in Feb ) coz he has been doing his own stuff.

He's also scammed a coach

who won him GSL October.

I wonder whats mma's comment about this one is lol.

From the way it sounded, It was very immature how MMA handled the coach thing too. He expected the team to cover expenses for his private coach. That is unheard of. And despite winning so much money in MLG (ya, in Korea it is a lot of money believe me) All he gave his coach was a graphic card won from some tournament. And according to Jessica's account "MMA threw the graphic card at the ryu" if im not wrong.

If you're also looking at the ESFI translation of Jessica's response to MMA, MMA didn't throw the graphics card at Ryu Won haha. I'm not sure how to properly explain the phrase "toss out" though.

Anyway, to be fair, coach Ryu Won did help the other players out as well during his time there. I'm not sure how accurate the translation is, but the way it's translated it seems Ryu Won did become a Slayers coach eventually (Edit: Yes it seems he did become a coach for the team eventually)

Also, we aren't exactly sure about the content of the contract between Ryu Won and MMA, so I don't think it's really fair to condemn him about not sharing the winnings, [Though on a friendship basis (Jessica said MMA said Ryu Won was his good friend), meh that's not very nice of MMA]

Furthermore, Jessica did mention when she wanted the contracted players to deposit a portion of their tournament winnings, and that the money would be used to pay the salaries of the coaches. There could have been some confusion here I guess. Maybe MMA thought the money that he deposited with Jessica is enough and that he didn't need to pay Ryu Won on his own.

The translation said coach ryu never help other players to practice. Did i miss some parts how he became a slayer coach?

I agree with you about the misunderstanding part if collection of money happened before ryu left. But i from what i gathered, seems that it happened after ryu left....

Haha yea it's not in the translated material that came up during this drama.

I'm not too sure about the timings of the events though. The timing of everything feels to me like the most confusing part of this whole incident. If we knew the timing that the events took place it'd be so much easier to piece things together.

Anyway, back to responding to you haha.

Ryu Won was hired by Woongjin on 18 May 2012.
Collection of money seems to be in February 2012, so I think there's the possibility of misunderstanding.

As for Coach Ryu not helping other people practise,

Edit: Taeja also thanked Ryu Won in this interview on 9 September 2011.
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=263834

In this interview on 21 September 2011 with Ryung, Ryung thanks Ryu Won.
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=267743

Just for reference, if I'm not wrong, the blizzcon event that Jessica talks about is probably during 21-22 October 2011.

In this interview on 17 November 2011 with Puzzle, Puzzle thanks Ryu Won too.
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=286235#1

In this interview on 1 December 2011 with Boxer, Boxer thanks Ryu Won as well.
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=290469#1

In this other interview on 23 December 2011 with Boxer and Taeja, Boxer thanks Ryu Won again.
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=297517#1

Then over here in this interview with Puzzle, he mentions that Ryu Won suggested strategies for him for his matches on 24 November 2011. http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=305097#1

Also, you can see a short excerpt of his daily duties in this interview on 23 March.
http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=322951#1

This doesn't rule out the possibility that Ryu Won was just helping out with the team even though he's a personal coach for MMA, but it does show that Ryu Won was at least helpful to players in the team other than MMA.

You make good point, but i dont think MMA was intently trying to hurt Boxer. He had some good achievements in SC2, and wanted to make his career even better. All this talk about money-grabbing is BS, cause that's what players trying to achieve. Make a living, make money. He is SC2 pro, he had results, he wasnt satisfied how he end up, he wanted to leave. Period.

Maybe he did not intend to , but he did anyway. And there are 2 reasons why it happened

1. Jessica trusted J but J screwed everyone over. Which NOTE THIS! Jessica apologized in team meeting, in first interview, and in second interview.

2. MMA did not trust someone who brought him to the esports scene at the first place and trusted some random guy who said Boxer and Jessica are screwing him over. Which NOTE THIS, even now MMA did not apologize about it in any sense!

Jessica did not push away this part of blame. Nobody said Jessica is clean. But the players need to shoulder their part of the blame/responsibility as well. Its not her own fault.

Jessica's fault cannot be avoided because J intended to screw up the team and grab players. Its a conspirarcy and she is a victim. However MMA's fault can easily be avoided if he had trusted Boxer, who , I dunno if anyone disagrees with this point, has a huge amount of credibility in the esports scene. (This guy formed 3 clans 2 in bw 1 in wol please)

Of course MMA is at fault.

Happy to answer such a calm and collected post. One question though, dont you think that Jessica deciding to go public did more harm to Boxer? I mean she just could call out the bluff on ESF, and end with it. Sure MMA is at fault, but her methods on doing things arent any better really. She doesnt seem like a sound manager anyway. What did she achieve with all this stuff in public? Slayers disbanded, she left. Whats the point? This is the question which no one could answer for me persuasively.

All along she wanted players and entities whom she considers to be at fault to give a honest recollection of the events and apologize for mistakes on their part. My guess is because she wants to preserve Boxer's imagine in eSports (Slayers disbanded because so and so fucked up as opposed to Slayers disbanded because Boxer jumped ship to SKT); probably emotional involvement is there as well, as both her and Boxer invested a LOT of their time, money, and careers into making Slayers happen, only to see it undermined by others' selfishness and greed.

She made some questionable decisions, there's no denying that - but there's also no denying that she was the one running the team that produced multiple championships both in team and individual leagues. There's no way she is anywhere remotely as bad as these forums make her out to be, and her aggressive criticism of players and eSF in this situation are, to me, very normal.

Agreed. However, MMA is still in pursuing a career, Starcraft 2, and even though he didnt show expected respect to Jessica and Boxer, in my eyes, he didnt deserve so much hits on his reputation. All of Korea are now blaming him and Crank, while he was only a part of the reason of Slayers downfall.

All he had to do was say, "I am sorry I acted rashly and let down Boxer, Jessica, Ryu, and my team." Of course people would still be angry with him, but there would be no more said from Jessica's side, and everyone would forget anything happened in a week tops. Instead these guys wait around for the whole mess to get even worse, and continue fighting a losing battle for no real reason. Jessica has nothing to lose here - she already gave up on the team, and she obviously has little care left for these guys; it makes absolutely no sense for them not to just acknowledge their own mistakes and move on.

Yes, but i guess the way Jessica put out her initial statements, apologizing would mean he takes almost all the blame. Which he felt wasnt the case at all. And of course as i feel we dont know all the details, MMA standpoint was different to the size of the threat. While, as you said Jessica leaving, she felt like some sort of personal retribution was needed, because Boxer was involved. Which is why a lot of people dont like this fact, outside of Korea. But i guess i cant judge the way their statements are put together, because outside of Korea, they would really be a bit different in form and essence.

So basiclly she says that Couch Ryu only helped MMA, then comes someone from TL proving otherwise, and people still keep bashing MMA, Alicia and Crank saying they are the liars? Explain me the logic of these people please.

At this point, the only reason Razer_Korea is siding with BoxeR and Jessica is because the Korean scene won't buy their items if they side in any other way, and by Jessica's tweets vs Mitchel's tweets I think we know that Jessica has been lying and embellishing her story the entire time.

Actually Razer Korea deleted their tweet, maybe is cause they came clean with Chris about the real story.

They probably intended to disband the team since before even Boxer left. But they held on to try and get transfer fee's for MMA and to punish their insubordinate players.

And if you look at my profile, you'd see my account also longer than you. And if Seeker or someone else comes in he can say the same about me, etc etc. It doesnt help the discussion at all.

The thing is - amount of posts and join date doesnt mean shit. Either you can argue his points, or you shouldnt argue at all.
Attacking him for his join date makes you look like you cannot argue his points and he's correct, so you need to resort to bashing.

Exactly, whenever people make a good point, this guy will just dodge the topic and start something else. He never reads what we said, just say " you evil MMA bashers" or take some random sentence out of a full reply and start pointing out mistakes.

Im not bashing other guys, even though we have a difference in opinion, at least it was a discussion. But with JAWS, hes just trolling.

Man, I really don't like some aspects of the translation and indeed about the style of truth being used here. On the face value, it looks like Jessica has been caught in 2 blatantly obvious lies. Saying that a huge transfer fee wasn't a cause for MMA not to be transferred and then going on to admit that she talked with a team that wanted MMA and told them that they might as well buy the team with how much it would cost them to get MMA, and her comment about coach Ryu only helping MMA being obviously contradicted by a half dozen players thanking him in interviews for his help. The issue is that she twisted out of first one by saying that the transfer fee wasn't stated by the other team as the reason for turning down MMA, as the other team didn't contact her again after her statement, and that the "didn't help other players" thing could mean that he wasn't "hired" to help other players but did so anyways based on how she worded it.

EDIT: It's the same thing with the Alicia interview, it was obvious via twitter that Jessica congratulated him on at least one of his performances via twitter, but he can still claim that she never gave him any cheers or congratulations in person and it is impossible to verify and very well could be true and something that annoyed him. It's not just Jessica that has this issue among the people involved in this.

Two words: Yoko. Ono.

Nah (but really yes), but this is turning into a pretty shitty thing. And the one in the middle is Boxer who will lose out no matter how he proceeds.

Posted on the other thread, if anyone interested on how "J" looks like.

Here's the infamous 'Manager J', also known as Hui-Chul "Garfield" Jung, with MMA (translating) right after he won Bluzzard Cup being interviewed by Rachel for CyberSportsNetwrok.

And this, just an assumption without much evidence.

Has this 'mysterious J' left the scene ever since Jessica kicked him out of the team or has he been watching closely from the shadows?

Jessica mentioned abruptly back then (before this drama) on how the Slayers social media accounts (twitter and facebook) were not associated with the team anymore, due to reasons she couldn't reveal.
But we all know as of now that those accounts were managed by "J".
Were the accounts given back to the team? or was "J" still in hold of those accounts? I doubt the accounts were reclaimed back by the team, if I recall correctly, sometime later after the disassociation with the accounts Jessica mentioned how from there onwards her own Twitter will be used as the team's official account.

Since then, there wasn't much activity in those accounts until early this month (October), when the non-official twitter became active again, and this time sparked the early rumors about Slayers disbanding http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=373628 .

Actually, that was yet another non-official account. The ones that "Manager J" had created and operated for the team were the ones described in this official statement from Jessica to TL.net on March 1, 2012:

http://www.teamliquid.net/forum/viewmessage.php?topic_id=316657
The following pages are no longer official:
Facebook: http://www.facebook.com/teamslayers
Twitter: http://twitter.com/#!/teamslayers
Facebook

Both of these have been silent ever since "Manager J" was found out and cut from the team in February/March. The thread you provided deals with the http://twitter.com/#!/slayersclan Twitter account.

Anyways, thanks for the CSN youtube video showing "Manager J" translating for MMA after winning Blizzard Cup at the end of last year. I had missed that earlier:

Seems this guy did really get around already for his young age (born in Germany, worked for SK, then Fnatic and Razer in Korea etc.). Wonder why SlayerS or sponsors did not press legal charges against him as he seems to be the culprit for most problems.

Thanks for the clarification.

I'm surprised he somehow kept following the team despite possible legal actions Jessica might take against him if what is being said turns out to be true.
Yet we still have to hear his part of the story,

@Slasher
I have found and located the mysterious Slayers 'Manager J', and he has agreed to talk to me regarding several aspects of the Slayers story.
This includes the discrepancies between Razer and MMA/Jessica, and his side of the story concerning the allegations made by Jessica.

There are too many false accusations flying around here, let me point out two things:

1. It doesn't matter whether Manager J actually did/did not help out with the training of Slayers players other than MMA.
He was brought in as MMA's personal trainer, and he only became a part of Slayer's staff (note how I said staff, and not coach) to take care of Slayer's Tweeter & facebook accounts. He was never given the role/authority/pay to coach the players and ESPECIALLY never to take part in dealing with other SC2 teams/agencies. Jessica states in her latest interview
(not included in the OP as far as I know, and the address to original Korean interview is here: http://www.thisisgame.com/board/view.php?id=1320974&board=&category=13438&subcategory=&page=1&best=&searchmode=&search=&orderby=&token= if anyone can translate that for the rest of the non-Korean community, that'd be great)
that manager J over stepped his role and got himself involved in talking to outside team's regarding MMA's transfer, causing confusion for everyone as an end-result (he apparently did not do a proper communication either)
Yes Jessica should've had a tigher clamp on Manager J, who apparently was not acting with any sort of professional mindset, but it is difficult to blame her in this case as she can't communicate in English which makes it very difficult to check on Manager's J's activities that involve English.

2. Keep in mind that MMA signed a contract with Slayers, and if he is to transfer to another team, it needs to be done in a team to team basis. That involves paying the transfer fee to Slayers, and Jessica/Slayers had every right to do that. (not to mention that is the proper route to take. Whether the transfer fee Jessica demanded was unreasonable - nobody knows whether that's true or not. None of you guys have the figures, and even if you do, none of you guys are experts in the field. Let it go unless something solid comes out, which I doubt it will.

In conclusion, Jessica did not do anything wrong - some may blame her for not being a better manager, but that's completely different from her making faulty decision. The entire trouble started from MMA becoming confused by manager J's deeds (him acting on his own account that ultimately put the team in confusion & trouble) and him not being professional and not handling it through the proper route - he only has himself to blame for that and for demoralizing the team (he should really be blamed for playing a major role in taking Slayers apart, imo)
Come get some

Sure seems that way. Now that none of that worked out it's time to drag them in the mud to further this misery SlayerS evolved into.
