"Manager" J is actually John Bain, and the players misinterpreted his telling them that they are getting WAY too small a piece of the pie as actual embezzlement on the part of Slayers instead of the normal business practice of only paying employees what is required to normally keep them, (or Jessica in drama mode thinks they accuse her of embezzling instead of just running a profit oriented business that pays low wages, which come to think of it makes sense even in non crazy speculation mode). MMA et al. believe John Bain's explanations because he gives them great detail of how sponsorships et al are done and is an amazingly persuasive person, especially when backed up by facts. The players buy into what he is saying because it makes sense easily to them to they are underpaid relative to the business that they work for, (everyone wants to believe that). "Manager J" does end up with multiple players joining his team under that scenario, many of the other players move on to greener pastures as well in terms of income, (if LoL works out for the Slayers 3, plus of course the likely boost in income for Crank, Ryuung, and MMA), while the lower end players in terms of reputation scramble to get picked up, some successfully some not so much. | ||
