I could accuse you here: vi4t0r from Poland RAPED A CHILD!
and your case would have the very same amount of evidence as Stephano's. there is nothing to be involved with.

I think the french just call it "when she's ready" It is 15. And it is not a sexual agression, it is a "Misdemeanor". And if the guy is under 18, any age is fine. So legally he could have some trouble (the law says, up to 5 years in prison and 75000 EUR), assuming the girl or her parents press charge against him. Now morally, I am a little bit troubled by all the fuss... Are there really that many people who think it is universally morally wrong to have sex with a 14 year old girl when you are 19 ? Yes. ... because... ? Because you don't see a lot of people from certain 3rd world countries posting on here now do you?
Hum, sorry but I don't get your point. My question was sincere, I don't really understand what it is that is so morally wrong that Stephano would have done having sex with an underage girl. I had always been pretty sure that these laws were ment to prevent children from being abused (as in, psychologicaly manipulated and mentally offended) and never to send a teenager to jail would he have sex with a girl a few years younger than himself. So I am asking, sincerely, what is wrong with that, what kind of harm is done ?

The fact is Stephano said vulgar comments with the intent of being vulgar. You can prance around and call out technicality, however at the end of the day what Stephano said was offensive to a large amount of people. ESports will not be taken seriously as a Sport if such ungentlemanly comments are allowed.

EG does good things for the wrong reasons.
EG should have suspended Idra multiple times by now, and Stephano should have been suspended the moment that post went public. Instead, they wait until people email sponsors. Am I in favor of emailing sponsors? No, I think the damage done to esports there outweighs the benefits. However, the ideal scenario is EG being a responsible organization - perhaps if they were such a responsible organization they would find some of the press about them would be positive, instead of consistently negative.

I agree that consistency is an issue, but I still think it was the right decision. Idra needs a good talking to imo and should have a 0 tolerance policy from now on.

he's hurting esports? wtf are syou smoking.

Dunno if its been asked, but i´d want to see the suspended pay go to some charity organization, possibly even further winnings by stephano until a certain date

its not offensive since the child he "raped" is non existant.
just how it's not racism if you hate orcs in wow because you know they don't exist.
it's not even offensive for anyone. in what way does a stupid joke offend you. you don't even know the people involved. you're not obliged to watch stephano. he has literally ZERO effect on your life.
from a law point of view, this case is NON EXISTANT. it's a PR problem from EG's perspective, but people who feel offended create the problem out of thin air. they don't achieve anything with this and even if they do that has 0 effect on their lives.
to me it just seems like a bunch of assholes who are bored and just create shit because they can.

Society, have mercy on me I hope you're not angry if I disagree Society, crazy and deep I hope you're not lonely without me

Clearly this is exactly what they were looking for when they signed him. Typical EG Hypocrisy, sign a player who gets arrested for drinking and then suspend him for making private jokes off-stream. Why not suspend him for saying jokes to friends while in public places where he can be overheard? in private places?
Fuck you American censorship.

I don't get the people defending Stephano. Even if it's a joke Stephano is a public figure for Eg. Eg can't afford to have a lose cannon that is bad for business and for the image the company carries. Also, who the hell "jokes" about raping an underage girl?

1.) it would be your word against mine. and i would plead not guilty. standard procedure. 2.) his problem is that he did say something that can be unambiguously interpreted as confessing to a crime.

This seems completely unjustifiable by EG. It's disappointing. Acting like pussies every time people whine for no reason is not the way esports will get more respected.

Without police investigation, how can you be 100% sure the child doesn't exist?
Even if there is just a slight possibility of that being true, for this kind of matter, must be taken seriously, investigate first.

And I don't get how people can read what he actually wrote, in context, and say there's something wrong.
Not to mention that it was, as far as he was concerned, a private conversation.

Who are you to say it's not offensive to anyone? Are you saying that it is OK for commentators to start making pedo jokes on GSL? There is a line and he crossed it with vulgar comments (Yes they are vulgar).
I personally joke around it with my friends, however if I made a joke like that around my dad, he would get offended. If I made a joke like that around my Religious cousins they would get offended.
Even Stephano said "You aren't streaming right?" at the end of his comments, even he knew that they would be construed as offensive.
So is it offensive? YES! YES IT IS! Not to everyone, but to enough people.

I'm not surprised. Reddit can be a really scary, really dumb place. It's a great site to share funny or interesting stuff, but when it comes to opinion it is really, deeply, flawed. It encourages the worst kind of herd behavior with its upvote system, and as they've shown it can be really destructive.
