People need to accept that what one joke to them is a reminder to another person and effects them personally. All people who shouts just a joke are down right selfish and close minded.

Have you ever heard someone apologize for something he said privately that wasn't leaked? my point is that the people in the sc2 scene don't apologize because they in fact should.. they do to calm down the idiots. who knows what people have done in the past? maybe one sc2 player killed a person, but nobody knows about it. the nature of the deed is what matters and that people know about it or don't doesn't matter at all, the deed has been done already anyway, and that person is dead. this was a harsh example of course. but it could happen that someone fucked someone else's girlfriend in the sc2 scene, that's much more realistic and likely. It can be that someone in the sc2 likes to have sex with trees. It can be that someone in the sc2 is a satanist. these are all possibilities, and if those people don't actually hurt other people or cross the laws of society, it's perfectly fine if they do those weird or even unethical things. Stephano made a bad joke that got leaked- what changed? nothing, he didn't rape a 14 year old, the raping didn't somehow materialize in the past just because he mentioned the word "abuse". he didn't commit a crime, he'll still attract huge numbers of viewers, and if he doesn't, that's his and EG's loss, in this sense mistakes like this can punish the player and the team. YET what does happen in reality? internet scum immediately sends an email to razer and monster with dick in hand. about a kid who made a stupid joke to a friend, and which has literally zero effect on all these internet scums lives, Stephano will still play good and still tell these kinds of jokes just he'll make 100% sure next time that it wont get leaked. it's just one small thing that pro gamers have to watch out for, it doesn't change ANYTHING in the world. From a practical point of view, it is 100% pointless to participate in the witch hunt, and from a moral point of view, well its stupid to try to look at this from this anyway, and literally nobody here would be a credible judge. So conclusion- players will look out and apologize, but not for the people, and it doesn't change anything if they do. that's why this whole drama is 100% unnecessary and stupid.

If people want to go out of their way to be offended thats their issue, not his. If it's so overwhelmingly offensive they can stop watching/supporting Stephano.

I'm curious as to why you think it's "obviously" a joke. It wasn't said in a joking manner and his follow up comments really make it seem like he isn't joking. To me, it seems genuine. If he was joking he should have made it truly obvious. On the internet everyone knows things can be misconstrued. If he was joking I think he would have said 'lol', 'haha', 'jk', literally anything to indicate he was being humorous. Imagine opening an e-mail and you find your friend wrote: "I just abused a child yesterday. 14 years old. I think I might only be interested in milfs and kids now." I'm sure we all have some some creepy friends but, in the above exact quotes, there was no indication of any joke. This is obviously subjective - you may read it as a joke and I may not. I would say though there's far more indication that it isn't a joke. Sam tried to assume it was joke, Stephano kept the tone serious. I think Stephano is a pretty fucking sick individual. But again, that's my opinion. EG is my favorite team; I hope they drop Stephano.

Lots of people say a lot of really horrible things but they're still just jokes. Louis CK called sarah palin's cunt a retarded maker. That's horrible to say, but it's a joke. He also jokes about raping strangers and killing his kids. Jokes, Jokes, Jokes. Ever listen to opie and anthony, howard stern, bill maher etc? George Carlin called women who are pro life chicks you wouldn't want to fuck anyway. My mom died when I was 11 via suicide, and my friends and I make suicide jokes all the time. Because it's wrong, and because to me it's funny. That's just how I am, and a lot of people like that style of humor. What happened with stephano was: He made a joke that was terrible (in terms of subject matter) to a good friend via chat which he thought was private He realized bling was streaming Drama ensues. No one did anything wrong. He could have made a joke about eating an infant for all I care. The fact it was public was an accident. It's not like he went on MLG's stage and said "Love you sundance, but I need to go rape a child now hahahah" IT WAS A FUCKING JOKE. I think some of you here had horrible childhoods filled with overprotecting parents and bad comedy

There is nothing out to clarify whether or not he actually did it.

did he fu* a 14-year old? -> we dont know. if he f* her, did shw want it? -> we dont know. conclusion: we dont know shi* and should not debate about private stuff we dont have insight to. its not our duty to stalk stephano. if the lady is being raped she w can call poolice and their duty is to do stuff we dont have the right to.

It reflects poorly on the EG brand, which is an organization that tries to make its profits through advertising, just as all of esports does. The job of the players is to improve/further the brand by promoting their sponsors through winning tournaments and other forms of positive advertising. If a player doesn't do that, it's pretty pointless to have him on your team. To you, he might be just a great SC2 player. To EG, he's an asset in order to make more profits. Making stupid statements that get out into the public make that goal harder to achieve. How is it that hard to understand? It's what the entire scene is organized around, and also why certain players (for example, naniwa) have such a hard time finding a top tier team no matter their skill.

The second picture clearly indicates that stephano likes to fuck milfs and kids, and that he doesn't want people to know. You can't really dispute that at this point in time.

Dear SC2 professionals, If you don't want fans calling sponsors, maybe you shouldn't say stupid shit on the internet. Professionals in real sports get suspended for less--a coach was fined $50k just for taking a referee's arm after a game. How many times was Ozzie Guillen fined for simply raging about the umpires after a loss? People working real jobs get fired for less, as well. While I'm aware that most of you are still kids, you forfeited the right to behave like kids when you became professionals. Professional doesn't just mean you're good at what you do; there's a standard of behavior involved, as well. You're not special. Thanks. Thank you... As someone who's working hard to help expand SC2 eSports from the advertiser side we seriously need more of this. I don't care how many of you think it's no big deal but in the real world it is. If you want to get paid to play SC2, if you want streamers to get revenue sharing so they will stream games 24/7 for you. If you don't want to be relegated back to the basement because everyone thinks you're all immature children who have no skills in the real world. Please wake up and act like professionals. I have to go into meetings with global corporations every day and explain why I'm recommending SC2 for a major advertising campaign or sponsorship when this stuff happens. We all get that people make jokes, and that people make mistakes but guess what. In today's age where nothing is private you have to be careful what you say. If you are a professional and represent an organization you must be extra careful. That is the way the real world works whether you like it or not. Thank you to everyone here who is busting their ass to make eSports what it is and to make it fun to watch gaming. For the rest of you that seem to think nothing you ever do or say matters...keep believing that and we'll see how long it takes to catch up with you. Some friendly advice...act like a professional...and people will treat you like a professional. If you don't care, fine, but don't expect people to just give it to you.
