He played a huge number of tournements and declined so many gsl but look how much he won this year, if he went to gsl he could make perhaps ro8 or even ro4 and lose a lot of money he could have made in internationals tournaments. He stated a long time a ago he wanted to do gsl but declined at the last moments because of internationnal tournaments. Perhaps he got his hands forced by EG but we dont rly know because he declined 3 tournaments and it doesnt show a good image of him and EG. Anyway i hope he doesnt get too tired from all the travels he will make.
Please re-read the post I was responding to. That person didn't write that Stephano decided to go because the schedule fit him better - he wrote that GomTV changed their schedule to fit Stephano.

Hope that's not written to harsh.
I don't think that's too harsh unless TL recently lowered their standards. OP is literally just a link.

Stephano might be the best foreigner in the world but I don't think its a good idea for Stephano to compete in the GSL (code S), even though the timing would be genius. Season 5 will have the influx of kespa players. Making it easier/more likely to get deep into the tournament.

Do you think the Kespa teams are going to ignore him ? Even Jaedong was studying his playstyle. It won't be easier for Stephano, but it'll be easier for the first wave of Kespa players who have so little TV match that their style isn't as known as the ESF players - bar Rain who has played a plethora of games and showed he is Championship material.

I really want to see Stephano participate in GSL but huh, it would be the worst timing ever this time.

Well, looks like I'm getting another GOM ticket for this season, then.
I've been waiting for soooooooooo long for Stephano to go to Korea and get crushed, the fan reaction here is going to be so delicious.

Gogo Stephano! Kinda sad he won't be at Bucharest though.

Finally we can see how he does in GSL~

I've heard he refuses to do GSL. I wonder how his unique training style will mesh (or not, maybe, lol) with the strict Korean regimen. Hope everyone benefits from his stay, of course. If true, I wonder why he refuses to do GSL. Hopefully it's not because he's afraid he might fail to prove himself in the biggest stage currently in SC2. He would never say it. But it's pretty much the reason he refuses them. I'd think he may know he has a very stylistic playstyle, one that Koreans could study really well... Just look what Oz did last time, he beat him very convincingly. And Oz isn't by far the biggest threat he will encounter... Of course I extrapolate, but still, I'm not really confident about his chances of success in Code S... It takes different skills to succeed there, as we saw with Naniwa...
That argument about him getting figured out by those merciless Koreans is stupid. How many Koreans were told they would be playing Stephano weeks in advance and got beaten? Hero (who had only Stephano to prepare for in NASL), Polt, alicia, ganzi, ryung... He doesn't get figured out more than any other top players and actually deals with unexpected builds pretty well. The problem with the GSL format for him is that HE doesn't really prepare for his opponents.
Recently, the people who have beaten him are actually players who didn't know they would have to play him, and just played their own style (like Oz) or were just really f***ing good.

Dear God, if you make this happen I will be a religious man thenceforth until the day I die. You have no clue of how the GSL system works, do you? To make it short for you: your scenario is absolutely impossible! Lose 4th in Group-->Code A ro48---> Out of GSL.
Anyhow, I think there isnt a reason for stephano to go to korea ever unless if he does GSL. DO GSL

This might be the jackpot for GOM. I can imagine they are just rubbing their hands together saying "Excellent" in the Mr Burns way.
Just kidding. But i'm sure there is somekind of a plan behind this move. I mean, I don't think Stephano would again fly there simply to practice with less lag. Why would he do that at this point when he has already been to Korea once for the purpose of "getting the feel of it". I would say it is quite certain he will be participating in the GSL this time.

Hope Stephano proves himself in Code S. I may not be on the "he's the best in the world" bandwagon but I think he's definitely a Code S level player and maybe even Code S level championship contender.
Off-topic, I also want to see more EU Zergs go to Korea.
